The workbook provided a process of helping me find myself and what I want to do next with my life. I have been laid off since March 2008. With two MBAs, a BS in Electrical Engineering, and over 20 years of experience ( marketing, sales, product management, and global account management) for a fortune 500 company, have been unable to find work where I can use my experience, skills and knowledge. I have NOT given up. The workbook is helping me to get a handle of .. "I am a person who....." and to help me know what I want to do in the next steps of my life journey. Bought this workbook to use with a friend on career assessment. Liked some of the exercises, but some were missing from the third edition such as some of the values exercises which I liked. The author continually updates this workbook. Different assessments include skills, traits, the Holland Code party exercise, life story exercises, and considering fields of interest. There are many helpful exercises in this workbook and it's great to have them all under one cover.

This book is exceeding my expectations. Excellent practical exercises to help identify where to focus my energies. This book is terrific, no matter what age, for anyone who is not sure what vocation to choose. It helps identify what kind of people I like to work with, whether I prefer to work alone or with others, and also brings together my experiences so far in a conclusive way so that I can now begin to focus where to go from here. I'm 70 y.o., retired from my former professions and wondering "what now" with my life. This book is a great help in guiding me for the future. I now see many more options ahead!

I recommend this for anyone re-evaluating their work situation or looking to change the industry in which they work. I will soon be leaving military service - after having done this my entire adult life (I'm in my 40s) - and this book forced me to do some serious inventory of my skills, interests, hopes & desires. I like how it steers you towards striking the balance for yourself between money & happiness. Some of the drills can be a little bit "hokey" but I altered them to get out what I wanted to get out of the book. Give it a shot.

I felt that it was a little unrealistic. We all can't love our jobs. If you have to make money sometimes you've got to come down to reality. I knew a lot of what the book already told me.

I honestly can’t say that many books that I’ve had to purchase for a class have ever been of any interest to me until we were required to purchase this book. It’s very insightful and takes things that seem like common sense and forces you to think more deeply about them. Very insightful book.

Needed this book for a class. Not very helpful when it comes to job hunting. More of a psycho-analyzing self help assignment. You are suppose to discover who you are through the various exercises. Not really my think.

The exercises in the workbook are from an earlier edition & not from 2017 edition although its helpful there is no need to buy the workbook if you already have what color is your parachute 2016 or 2017 or 2018 edition hardcopy book.The workbook might come in handy if you are reading the book on kindle.

I highly recommend this book as a fantastic resource for anyone looking for a job, and also for students to define their possible career paths.

I can highly recommend this book to any person seeking a career change, yet not knowing where to start. This is a very good starting point, as it allows you to reflect upon your strengths, skills, and desires from any perspective possible. One should be clear however, that it means discipline in working through.
