Sweet, strongly flavored, hard texture mints with decorative containers
I enjoyed all three flavors but my husband found the violet ones too floral. Mints are definitely too hard to bite. Decorative container is tin material on top and plastic material on bottom.

Hard to find! Have been looking for these since the 80s!!
SCORE!! These are SO hard to find. I've been looking for them since the 80s when they disappeared with Drug Emporium and a candy store in Seattle. I couldn't even find them in the UK when I was there. My 20-something y/o daughter found them here! ...now she's hooked, too!Since you're not likely to know anybody familiar with these...These are not "mints" as commonly thought, nor are they for children - they are definitely adult candies. They aren't strong, biting mints by any means. They are subtly sweet, fragrant, and flavorful candies with an anise seed inside to finish off the treat with a touch of licorice. Don't bite them - they are HARD - and meant to be savored. My favorites are the Violets and the Anise. At first, you'll probably find the violets perfumy, but if you give them time, they'll grow on you! The violets and other flavors are also available in a far more economical bulk package. If you're looking for a long-lasting, gently flavored treat, you'll really enjoy these.

Delicate little candies in pretty tins. I also purchased the 3 pack of mint, lemon and rose to try those flavors as well. I was pretty happy with all of them. The floral flavors: rose, violet and orange blossom are are exactly that, floral, but I didn't think overpoweringly so. If you'd be put off by the floral taste maybe avoid those ones, but that was what I was looking for. Each mint is a little smaller than a dime and these are hard mints, so no biting (there is even a warning on the side of the tins about this, lol! ) Each also has an aniseed in the center of the candy that you'll get to as the candy dissolves. The only negative I found is that I wish these were a bit smaller, but just a preference. I would definitely buy these again and would recommend these to anyone who would want to try them.

Not my favorite flavors.
I tried the Rose flavor recently and really liked it, and I used to get the violet ones as a kid. I'm wondering if I've got nostalgia goggles or something, but I don't remember the violet ones tasting so much like Ivory soap. :/ It dissipates quickly and after that is ok, but those first few seconds are pretty unpleasant. The orange flower one starts off bitter, like perfume. It's ok after that, but again, not a pleasant start. The anise one is the only one I do mostly like. It tastes like black licorice (duh, anise) but has an interesting -- almost slightly numbing -- mouthfeel like Szechuan peppercorns without the heat. It's the only one of these flavors I might order again.I should have stuck with the rose flavor. 🤷♀️ Ah well, next time.

Absolutely delicious
The title says it all, really. I love violet and this was a good way to get my fix. The sweetness didn't overpower that delicate floral flavor I was craving. The orange is not your typical variety of orange candy, so if you want a flavor like Jolly Ranchers or similar, look elsewhere. It's a deliciously subtle taste that makes me want to savor it. I can't give a personal review of the anise as I dislike anise candy, but my husband liked them and he's... particular about candy, shall we say.The tins got here without any broken candy or dents in the tins. The tins, by the way, are very pretty and are good for pill cases and organizing tiny odds and ends. They withstood hot glue without warping. That last one probably isn't the biggest selling point, but hey, I can't be the only crafter that will order these! All in all, wonderful candy and I will buy these again.

5 stars for anise & orange. meh for the violet flavor.
love these! well, love the anise & the orange, not fond of the violet. wish i could trade those. still, these are wonderful. had been reduced to anise cough drops to get my anise fix, these are much better.more expensive, but worth it. plus i plan to find interesting uses for those tins, so cool. just wish they were all metal, not half metal half plastic.yeah, it takes a few to remember do NOT bite these! hard! wow! but lovely after dinner or while driving.anyhow, if you love anise, try these. maybe you'll find someone who loves the violet ones. [ i grew up with grammy eating violet candies, but they are too strong now]

They're okay.
I bought these because I was in a floral candy mood and wasn't a big fan. The mints are small hard (jaw-breaker) candies with a mildly sweet taste and an anise seed center. They smell nice, but I'm not too sure how well they'd work as breath fresheners; the anise flavor would work very well, but I felt as though the violet and orange blossom fragrance would just mix with whatever your breath smelled like.I've never liked black licorice jelly beans (I like refrigerated black licorice scotty dogs though!) and that's exactly what the anise mint tastes like (I should've known better but I really wanted the combo pack of orange blossom and violet). The violet mints tasted like you were eating sweet potpourri or perfume. I was really excited to try this one but I really felt like I was eating the smell of the inside of a Macy's. The strong taste strangely assaults your nose as well. The orange blossom one is my favorite. It's light, floral, and very pleasant.I'm sure somebody will love these (evidently, by the number of positive reviews here), but they weren't for me. I'll be sure to try the lemon, mint, and rose variety pack.
