Plan on taking your time but well worth it.
I found shutter renu by mistake while I was looking at replacement vinyl shutters. I was skeptical that it would do the job but boy am I thrilled with the result. The many before and after pictures are totally accurate. My shutters are 20 years old, were whitish, streaked and looked awful, and they now look brand new. Some hints: the cleaner is VERY important despite what others may say. Take your time and really clean them good, that makes a big difference when you put on the clear coat. The first shutters I cleaned were behind some obstacles and I didn't do a very good job and they didn't cover as well as the shutters that I really cleaned well. Be prepared to take your time and do a thorough job cleaning. I used a vinyl push broom and hand held scrub brush and really scrubbed them. They looked worse after cleaning, more faded and whitish and I thought it was a huge mistake. But then when I "painted" them, they looked beautiful. I pre-painted the whitest streaks and then when I painted them again, completely gone! When you're painting, have a rag in your pocket, use a high quality thick brush (very important) and again, take your time. Use enough solution to cover the shutters, you can clean it up the second time around. As the solution starts to set up, it's easier to touch it up, get the excess solution out of the crevices, from around the pins, etc. If you hurry, you'll get that solution all over the place so have a rag to wipe it up, my shutters are against brick (I did not tape) so I didn't want spots. I worked with 2 shutters at a time and went back and forth with touch ups. A lot of work, but I saved about $1000 just in materials, and I would have had to hire someone for replacement, but I could do the cleaning and painting myself. JUST BE PREPARED TO TAKE YOUR TIME! It's not a rush job project, and you'll be very pleased. CLEAN VERY WELL, LET DRY COMPLETELY, USE A HIGH QUALITY BRUSH, BE PREPARED TO GO OVER THE SHUTTER TWICE, TOUCH UPS ARE EASIER AS THE SOLUTION SETS UP WITH A LIGHT TOUCH ON THE BRUSH, AND IF YOU DON'T CLEAN UP THE DRIPS AND EXCESS, IT WILL DRY WHITISH, LIKE ELMERS GLUE. I highly recommend this product!!

Really Works!
Amazing Product! My shutters were really weathered and I was looking for someone to replace them. Then I saw this product and after cleaning them with soap and water, I applied Shutter Reno Wipe on. I was immediately surprised the how great it worked. It’s been several weeks and they still look great!

Time Will Tell
We will see how this product holds up over the long run. But 3 months into a long, sunny hot summer and my reconditioned vinyl (medium blue in color) shutters are still looking great. For prep, I pressure washed then used the cleaner contained in the kit with the supplied steel wool. Rinsed with the garden hose then bought more steel wool and scuffed them again. And again. A Scotch Brite pad may have worked as well, but steel wool was recommended in the instructions and that is what I used. The final product works wonderful after I applied 3 coats (the final coat being pretty thin). The bottle of product is smaller than I expected, but a little does go a long way and I did 8 full sized shutter and two small ones. Here is my criticism for the seller: Please don't insult us with the one small wad of steel wool. It takes more than what you supplied smiley to do one set of shutters and you know it. Just charge me an extra quarter and provide more or tell me up front I need to go buy my own. Also, I don't think it is possible to include a cheaper "paint brush?" Granted it is a use and toss brush, but there are better options than this plastic bristled piece of junk included in the kit. The liquid finish seemingly works great. But come on, charge a dollar more and not supply junk brushes which made me question the durability of the entire product when I opened the package. Or, skip that all together, charge a few dollars less and tell me what I need for my project. In the end, I bought more steel wool and supplied my own brush anyway. Ditto for the cheap vinyl gloves you included. The cleaner and especially the sealer worked wonderfully and I would buy it again. But the overall "kit" when opened made a bad first impression with the chintzy brush, gloves and since wad of steel wool. That all said: Go buy a better disposable brush, a full package of steel wool follow the instructions. Like painting a classic car, 90% of the work is in the preparation and you need to take your time and do it right. The result; you will be happy with the renewed look of your vinyl shutters.

Does a great job. One of the few products I've bought that actually works. Just follow the directions and it makes your vinal siding look like new.

Lasts about a week
Not a good product. Washed my faded shutters with mild detergent (Dawn). Let them thoroughly dry. Applied the product and it dried for 30 hours. shutters looked GREAT for about 3 days, until we had some 95 degree scorching sun and brief heavy summer rains. 6 days after the application my shutters have all the same heavy fading prior to applying this product. DO NOT waste your money or time buying/ applying this product. Rustoleum Recolor was a great product when it came in the bottle, and restored like-new shutters at least 18 to 24 months, but it's no longer available. Only the wipes version is available, and they arrive dried out because I believe the product is discontinued and only old stock is available. I Will continue to look for a shutter restoration product that works and is available.
