Solid Common Core Geometry Curriculum still needs supplementation
I chose this book because of the terrible discovery-style curriculum that our school district was using was not going to work for my teenager. It is Common Core aligned, which is works in most states. Even though many will claim that Common Core prescribes the discovery style way of teaching, it's simply not true (go check Myths vs Facts, "Teachers know best about what works in the classroom. That is why these standards establish what students need to learn but do not dictate how teachers should teach. Instead, schools and teachers will decide how best to help students reach the standards."). The book is like your typical direct instruction style text. Each chapter begins with a Chapter Preview that lists the topics to be covered in the sections, BIG Ideas which lists one or several Essential Questions like "What are the essential building blocks of geometry?", vocabulary (English and Spanish) and Domains, which link to online problems (I didn't pay for the online version, so I don't have access to it). It also has a mid-chapter quiz, chapter review and chapter test (all in this main text) and an end of chapter Common Core Review. In the back: Skills Handbook with examples, References with names of Theorems in chapter order and an explanation of each, a Visual Glossary in English and Spanish and answers to odd numbered questions. The book is pricey at nearly $100, and with that, you'd need to track down the answers to the evens or be able to answer the questions correctly yourself. I also bought the Common Core Standards Practice and Review and the High School Math Common Core Geometry Practice Problem Solving Workbook, which so far has followed the text. The only problem with all this when used for homeschooling purposes is that you must either know the answers to or purchase separately the answer keys, so things get even more pricey. After using it this year, and figuring page by page, section by section, the Common Core State Standards for Geometry contained in the book, I've changed my rating from 5 stars to 4. It's not a surprise, but is a disappointment that not all of the CCSS for Geometry were included in this text. For example, it's missing:C.O.A.3C.D.D.13G.P.E.A.1 (completing the square for a circle)G.P.E.A.3 (derive equ for hyperbola/parabola for constant foci)HSG.C.A.1HSG.C.A.3HSG.C.A.4SRT.D.9SRT.D.10In summary, I think this is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to use direct instruction for teaching common core state standards for geometry, but buyer beware: you will still need to supplement the materials to meet all of the Geometry CCSS.

Very Good!
While it said used acceptable, I would’ve said very good condition! The inside of the book is pristine. Just some wear & tear on the hardbound cover.
