Mr. Munger life story - a mind set story
Damn Right! Is the story of Charles Munger and the Munger family, Charles Munger is the decades long partner of Warren Buffett. He is a business man, lawyer, real estate developer, and some will say a philosopher. It is not a story of get rich fast, or a story of a young guy with a brilliant idea that changed the world in 5 years or less. It is a different kind of a story, a story of hard work, a story of tragedies and triumphs, a story of building your life dreams one day at a time, a story of a man with gumption. Some criticize the book of not detailing the investment philosophy of Charles Munger, some say it has too many details or too few of them. I think it is not an investment book per se, but it is a mind set book. I find it to be a fascinating story of a man with values that we all know, determination that we aspire to have, and yes some luck that we wish for.I once spoke with two business owners, they both had the same type of business, they both had partners, both were determined and hard working and they both struggled, one of them became a very successful multi branch business while the other bankrupt. Why? I think that by reading the book you might find the answer, and if not you might get inspired, when things are not bright there will be the ones who will give up and ones that will keep on pushing. Charles Munger story is of a person that kept on going for decades and achieved the success he deserved.Amir AvitzurAuthor of "Why do we sell low and buy high? Warren's other half
The book is very readable and interesting. Munger is a pretty private person, so there's not as much about his personal life as some might like. But his financial journey is amazing and you learn as much about Buffett as you do Munger. The wit of both men appears often in the book and lightens the numbers crunching for those not as interested in the financial details.

Great insight into what it takes to succeed and make money
Every well known, celebrated person has a key supportive person, and for Warren Buffet, that person is Charlie Munger. I feel like Lowe lead me through Munger's life to show me his life lessons.I wanted to start investing in securities and stocks, and after watching various videos on YouTube, I was more excited than ever about making money through investment. I thought I could best learn how to do it by reading about Buffet and Munger's lives, and in this book, Munger reenforced the best, tried and true way to invest and make money: stick with what you know, learn more about it, work hard at it, and invest in it aggressively. "It" for Munger was business stocks investment based on his attorney career. Munger was always interested in business stock investment, and it took him many years of trials and errors. If I started to learn about investment now, it will take me years. After reading this book, I realized that the best investment I can make is on my own business that I have. Learn more about it, work hard at it, and invest in it aggressively, and this would give me better return and less chance for failure than trusting so called investment consultant who gambles with the money I worked so hard to earn.

Insightful as to Mr. Munger's life.
Always enjoy expanding or being reminded of Mr. Munger's points of wisdom to follow in life. This did not disappoint. Three examples: learn to follow before you lead, tell the truth, and my favorite, become friends with the dead.

Old. And very good. Uses Coke to make a vast generalisation about life, the cause and effect of success and .. the universe.
If you thought that Warren Buffet's mate was a back room boy then you're wrong. This will teach you about global success on a single human's scale. Interesting, highly personal , experiences melded with mega business history form the launch-platform for Mr Munger's acute observations about the human condition and a polemic on the Western world's education system ... and how to fix it. Five stars if you stay with it to the end.

Will this book disappointe you? Damn Right!
In recent years books about Buffet & Co. started to spring like mushrooms. Publishing books about Berkshire Hathaway's incredible success story is rapidly turning into a lucrative industry. 'Damn Right!' is just another one.If you expect to learn more about Charlie Muger, Buffet's mysterious sidekick, then you will be very disappointed. Ms. Lowe talks in great detail about Munger's aunts, uncles, parents, grandparents, and their dogs but doesn't say much about him. The author seems to be more interested in Munger's life style and his family than in his approach to business and investing.Ms. Lowe repeats the story of Berkshire Hathaway in a most superficial way. There are much better books on this topic (see Robert Hagstrom's 'The Warren Buffet Way'). I gave it three stars only because there are some bright spots, such as Appendix D and few interesting facts about the man and his way of thinking.

Good discussion of Munger's history.
Good discussion of Munger's history, but not that much really on his investment style and history.

Must read book
The book brings out the mysterious personality of Charlie Munger and his progress as an investor. It is not a book to read if you want to learn Charlie's approach to investing but can be a great guide if you want to model your life on the likes of Charlie and Buffett. It gives insights into the mind of two great people who have had the courage to stand against one and all when they thought they were right.
