Door slave loves it!
Our big 100lb Bowzer loves his door. And his door slaves love it too. It seemed a little flimsy until we installed it. And it's a little crooked because we are not real handy. Need 3 people to hold it together during install though. And for encouragement. And to help drink the beer. Thanks neighbor Steve!

Works great. My 130 lb black lab has no trouble ...BUT
Works great. My 130 lb black lab has no trouble using it. Some of the weather stripping came off, but it's still pretty effective at keeping out the cold....Now less than a year later, one of the plastic tabs holding on the door is broken off, and you cannot get a replacement flap. I suggest buying one with better weather stripping and replacement flaps available.

Horrible Instructions, yet pleased with the product functionality
Horrible, horrible directions. Not meant for through wall opening, had to "adjust" the flap by shaving 1/8" to get the flap to push in and out. magnets also kept falling ouy, didn't sit under plastic tab, too large, superglue helped. It IS way more energy efficient than a normal flap, it forms a good seal when not in use. Took 2 days to get the dogs used to it with treats and positive reinforcement. Pleased, however wishing the directions were better, images actually relating to all the pieces!?

Strong and durable!
Door was the perfect size. They only thing i would say is the side inserts are a little difficult to hold, it would be nice if they inserted into something steady. Also, instructions are a little vague, so if this is your first door it might be challenging. Overall great sturdy door though!

Unreasonably dificult to install and poor fit and finish compared to other pet doors
Product installation is considerably more difficult, frustrating, and time consuming than other pet doors I've installed due to obviously careless and thoughtless design. I am very accustomed to working with my hands as an automotive collision repair tech. I am constantly doing countless DIY home improvement and renovation projects including many that are most commonly left to pros. I have installed at least two other pet doors that I can recall and this one was by far the worst! The template included with the directions was obviously for a much smaller pet door so I was left to figure out what sized hole to cut for myself (not terribly difficult but somewhat time consuming and mistakes could be difficult to correct). Only one set of screws was included and they where too short to reach thru my 1 1/2in thick door, leaving me with no choice but to make a trip to the hardware store for longer screws. I live alone so I was forced to leave my home unattended with no way to cover the massive hole in my door. Cheap cheezy thin floppy plastic "filler" panels are used to fill the gaps in all except solid wood doors, and even on those realistically unless the installer wishes to carefully smooth and paint the edges of the opening after cutting (better hope you measure and cut flawlessly). These panels required more careful measuring trimming as they were made wide enough to fit a much thicker door than mine even though no screws for any such door were included. Fitting the four separate floppy plastic panels into the narrow slots they go in while holding the two halves of the pet door in place and trying to align screw holes, insert screws, and start the nut which are recessed into holes is ridiculously difficult. One needs about three or four sets of skilled hands to get the job done. Other pet doors I have installed in the past are simply made up of two halves that slide together with a telescoping type design leading to simple installation and far superior fit and finish. Id strongly recommend that type. This one may be a little cheaper but after all the frustration and time wasted fit and finish is still very unsatisfactory.

A great pet door.
The large locking pet door worked out just fine. All I had to do was a little modifying of the original opening and install the new door and it was ready to go. The new door is strongly built and I like the stile of the see through window in the door and also the magnetic stops at the bottom insuring a perfect closure every time, no standing open for insects to have a place to enter.. I am expecting this door to last much longer than the one with the three plastic flaps at the top which in my experience only last one year or less. The flap on this door has two pins at the top which gives the door a more freely movement . .

Not a high quality product, unfortunately.
I really wish I could have purchased a different pet door, but I was replacing an old one and this is the only one I could find with anything close to the same dimensions. Otherwise, we would have had to replace the entire door, and that's probably what we'll do in the long run because this pet door is not going to last and allows too much cold air to come in. The first pic is of the rubber seal, which you are supposed to set into a groove around the door, but there's no way to make it stay put. So as you try to set it in place, the rubber just falls out. So I finally just threw the rubber seal away because it was just a pain. Next, the magnets fell out of the bottom of the door flap. I glued them back in. The third pic shows how large the gaps are around the hinges. There's also a lot of space around the door flap. Finally, it is about a month later and the fuzzy seal around the outside of the flap is falling off. (Also, a magnet fell out again. I need to find it and try to glue it back in.) I hope it will hold together for a few months to give us time to replace the whole door, along with a better pet door. If so, it will have served its purpose, but it would have been nice to find one that fit our existing door that was actually made to last a few years.

a little expensive but worth it for our puppy.
The puppy loves it and has freedom to go out and come in any time she likes.
