Woodstock D4220 Sawhorse Brackets

These sawhorse brackets are perfect for my situation. They are sturdy and simple to assemble.

I wanted a pair of saw horses but didn't want to make something makeshift that would wobble or fall apart. These brackets are so easy to use and are very sturdy. They also look neat, just as if I know what I am doing. 2 x 4's for the legs and I used a 4 x 6 for the top, perfect. They stack nice and can be broken down without tools. Even my mother-in-law said that they looked nice!

Width of the 4x6 top and 2x4 legs must be trimmed 1/8" to properly seat into recesses.. I measured the bevel angle necessary for the legs feet as 20 degrees. I substituted 5/16-18 x 4-1/2" hex head machine bolts for the carriage bolts and added a 3/4" counterbore (for 1/2" socket clearance) to level heads to surface of top piece.

Top groove too narrow for standard Home Depot 2 x 6. Rides up on one side unless board is ripped narrower.

Well made brackets. Bought precut 3’ legs. Put the horse outside as a perch for chickens. They love it. Sturdy enough for a person to sit on it.

2x4 on top does not fit, has to be trimmed. Legs do not line up, so it wobbles. Returned.

Side top of bracket came cracked. Treated 2x4 don’t fit. No response about crack from company.

These exact brackets are offered by at least a couple sellers here. I chose this seller to take advantage of Amazon Prime next-day delivery. The brackets work fine. The packaging was fine. The brackets do not come with instructions, but as other reviewers have commented, if you need instructions to assemble a sawhorse with these brackets you probably shouldn't be building sawhorses or undertaking any projects where you might need sawhorses. Other reviews have mentioned problems with getting 2x4s to fit in the brackets. I used pressure-treated 2x4s, as I had several on hand, and they are a little bit bigger than regular 2x4 boards. By putting the bracket on the floor and fitting the 2x4 into the bracket and then tapping the end of the leg with a hammer you can get the board correctly inserted. It will be snug. For the top board, I used a rasp to take down one corner a little bit and was then able to get the board to sit nicely in the slot on the top of the bracket. See photo above. Just to keep things simple I cut all the boards to 30". You can make the sawhorses any height or width you desire. I countersunk the bolts to keep the top of the sawhorse flat and I cut the legs at 17.5 degrees so they sit flat on the floor. See photos.

Acabo de terminar mi mesa de trabajo para router y sierra circular. Estoy en espera de los canales "T" con escala pero gracias a este excelente juego de soportes mi mesa quedó muy firme. Este producto hace muy fácil ensamblar y desensamblar para guardar sin que ocupe mucho espacio y también puede ser fácilmente transportable.
