I bought this because after getting a pencil cover for my apple pencil, it no longer fit in the slot of my iPad case. it gets the job done, the material is really stretchy so it has no issue holding the pencil even with a bulky cover. my pencil feels secure and I’m not worried about it accidentally falling out.

I've tried like everything else (stickable pencil elastic, pencil slot in case, separate pencil pouch), and this has honestly been the best 1st gen apple pencil solution for me. The case is great if you don't use a grip, but I found grips to be indispensable (I'm an artist and a student, so I use the pencil for very long periods of time). The elastic is awkward cuz the pencil is a unique width, so I found that either they are too loose or it frays over time. Plus, it's hard to find a perfect place to stick it without getting in the way of a trifold case. The pencil pouch is just kind of a hassle. I really like this because the pencil is out of sight in my trifold when I don't use it, but I always have a safe storage compartment to rely on! Plus, it's SUPER sticky, maybe too sticky?? I plan on keeping on my case forever, but my ipad went a bit kerdonk recently, and I assumed it had something to do with my old trifold case (jury's still out folks). I tried to rip off the sleeve and attach it to a new trifold case, but the sleeve's sticker straight up ripped off chunks of my old case (to be fair, my old case was super cheap and kinda weirdly built, which is probably why my ipad went kerdonk). If you plan on this being a temporary solution, maybe don't pick this? I think the elastic may be a better route for you. However, if you're like me and want this to be on your case for good, this is perfect! I reordered it for my new case because I loved it so much, rip to my ipad though. 10/10!!
