I'll admit i was a little unsure of how well the fit and finish would be on such a cheap mount, but boy was i glad to find this and save a load of cash on the competition. To start, it comes in very basic packaging with no instructions. I bought this as a backup mount for my volunteer search and rescue kit mounted to our black diamond climbing helmets. The screws worked perfectly for this application but will not work on any kevlar helmets as the screws are too short. The optic arms fit very snug and have ZERO movement providing a stable platform to view from.

I bought this to replace an el-cheapo plastic shroud that was on a surplus ACH helmet.The Good: All of the holes on this piece were in the right place on the helmet.The cuvature works: Top bolt mounting was a little spaced off with a gap on the top, but it only takes a little time with a multitool (do not use a hammer) to get it sorted out. I just bent the bracket a bit to fit the helmet profile. After that, good to go.Hardware:You may need longer screws to get this fitted depending on your helmet. So plan for a trip to the hardware store for better ones. (re-use the old nuts)Other than that, this is light years better than cheap plastic junk (airsoft) mounts. This is solid, and it's a good price. Just put a little time into fit and finish it'll work well for you. I don't own NODS, so YMMV.

First off I thought this was gonna be plastic for the price. It was not. It’s metal. It’s strong, held my cam and nods well. Can’t believe it’s this cheap. Time to recycle those old ACHs.

The material is solid and looks great.I had to drill my own holes on my ballistic helmet to mount this but once I figured out the placement it was easy enough.If you are mounting on a ballistic helmet you will need longer screws to secure it than what is provided.Good value for the price I paid and seems like it will stand up to abuse.

Cheap metal wouldn't sit flush on Helmet wouldn't recommend

I wouldn't recommend this shroud as a permanent solution. They're ok if you need something in a pinch overnight. They do not feel super strong, so definitely add a tether to your optic. The fit has play in it, but putting a piece of electrical tape that wraps around the sides and the bottom tightened things up.

The media could not be loaded. Pros: It’s great for the price! And it was easy to install and so far it’s holding up under use :)Cons: (more fyi’s) it’s VERY dark green and it comes with very short bolts… clearly for bump helmets… NOT ballistic helmets. I used my own as shown and it worked great!
