Edit: well, the bird natj cracked over the winter. We were going to bring it in, but there were enough warm days that the water wasn't frozen, so left it out for the wonder birds to drink (which they did.) I knew plastic wasn't as durable as concrete, but wanted something light. So I not super surprised it didn't last.However, I am not buying this kind again. It is too deep and we had two birds drown in it. Then we filled the bottom with river rocks so it was shallower, but still had enough surface area where they could drink from where they stand on the edge. Do we did make it work. Maybe we just have stupid birds, but I don't want to drown anymore! I am looking for a shallower one.My neighbor has a feeder, but no water. It was really hot and dry for a few days and I saw some birds taking dirt baths...I felt so bad for them that I had to get a birdbath! I did then look into "dust bathing" and saw that birds just do this anyway...but figured water would still be a good thing for them. I looked locally but they were all sort of ugly, really small, or expensive. I ended up getting this one because it was bigger and was still lightweight to move it for grass cutting.It does have a scalloped, not-round shape. I still am not sure how to place it as I want the the low end where I can see it, but then the back side is facing out...I will have to turn it to get the best look. It is plastic, but thick...reminds you of pvc type material. The 4 parts (base, pole, flange, and bowl) just screw together. I worried that plastic threads might not screw in well, but they went in really easily. And (for the ocd in me) the small seams in the plastic lined up in the back so it looked really nice. I was surprised that the plastic looked very metallic, not junky.So far the birds have been ignoring it (it has only been out a few hours) but I may have it too close to our central air thing so the random kicking on noise might be it. Maybe the just don't know it is there yet. If I don't see any birds in a day or two in it (they are around...just not in my bath!) I may try a different location.

My cats keep me company all day in my home office, sleeping on the bookcase next to the window. I wanted to add something to entertain us throughout the day but didn't want to spend a lot of money, or get something that was a pain to maintain. This bird bath fit the bill perfectly - it's resin so it's light and easy to move (which is easy to pick up and relocate for lawn mowing) but sturdy enough that it stays put. The design is nice and looks like it's made from heavier stuff. I liked the scalloped bath rather than a plain round one. It was easy to assemble and I had it out in the yard in minutes. I bought a small solar fountain to float in it to keep the water circulating and so far the birds really like it, and once a week I empty it, wipe it out with a cloth, and it's good to go. I have two mated pair of goldfinches who come hang out throughout the day, visiting the feeders and sipping from the basin. A nice backyard addition!

I was skeptical at first. It's a hard plastic but set up was really easy. The entire base pedestal is hollow. Put the bottom three pieces together, fill with sand and then mount the actual bath. Very simple. Comes with three stakes for mounting in dirt. I have one on the deck so needed the sand and another in my garden staked down. It works perfect for that. While I have not seen any bird activity in either, I am still pleased with the aesthetics and enjoy seeing the sparrow statues. My neighbor loved them so much, she bought one the same day I put mine up. She was shocked it was plastic as it does look metal or ceramic at a distance.

This item is SUPER NICE and MUCH BETTER, HEAVIER than I imagined ! The color is golden with blackish like which appears expensive ! Value was excellent too ... worth every penny . It includes stakes to secure it in the ground but it's heavy enough that they are optional in my case . Birds showed an IMMEDIATE INTEREST after I placed a shallow bowl within the birdbath and filled the inner, shallow bowl with seed ....I plan to remove the seed bowl ( maybe) after a while . The actual birdbath bowl is large , ornate and ample depth to keep water good temp. The designs on the base are much prettier in person too ! NO TROUBLE ASSEMBLY/ NO DIRECTIONS EVEN NEEDED BUT ARE PROVIDED ...In ENGLISH ....YIPEE ...GOD BLESS AMERICA AND YOU TOO! Buy ya one 😂

I love this water fountain. It looks very expensive and nicely painted. And also what I love is the customer service. I contacted them because the stakes to hold it in the ground was missing. They was so professional and courteous and without hesitation fix the problem. I highly recommend them not just for the superb customer service but the product is very beautiful with superb craftsmanship. It looks so beautiful I was going to keep it in the house. It is very easy to assemble just screw everything together. The birds outside love it that I got a two blue jays on it. They also provided fast shipping.

The media could not be loaded.  Just amazing. I do not know if plastic bothers you but this looks like bronze from far away. We have a small garden and it is a great fit to our garden. It is very sturdy. I love the look. I was not sure at first but I am glad I bought it. Great buy!!Update: 1 month later. It is already cracked and the water is dripping.
