Very impressed!
Bought this for my mom whose Shark recently stopped working. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise considering the Shark had long been too heavy for her to manage comfortably. While I knew that she needed something more lightweight, I was also hoping to find something cordless so that vacuuming the stairs wouldn't pose such a nightmare for her. Going in, I guess I was ready to accept that, with these caveats as priority considerations, it would almost certainly mean having to compromise on overall performance. There was also the uncertainty regarding runtime of a rechargeable battery. Would this mean having to re-charge the battery more than once to finish vacuuming the house? A lot to consider, but after some research, and taking into consideration the reviews for this machine, I decided to give the Eureka a try. While I couldn't be absolutely sure without mom actually giving it a go herself, I was at least hopeful that it would be lightweight enough for her to use. And, because it is cordless, I figured she'd be much more comfortable trying to maneuver it around the house. Also, while I still wasn't sure what to expect in terms of how long the vacuum could run before having to recharge it, the Eureka had enough positive reviews that I felt reasonably confident that it would meet most of my general criteria. As it turns out, it most definitely is lightweight enough for my mom to maneuver around her house and the fact that it doesn't have a cord makes it even more so. I don't know what I expected in terms of its suction, but I was blown away at how well it picks up from hardwood, tile, and carpeted floors. Way better than the Shark, even! I watched my mom pretty much breeze through the kitchen, dining room, and family room with no problems at all. The stairs, which had always been a problem for her, were vacuumed with relative ease and with much better results than before, due not just to the machine being cordless and lightweight, but also due to less bulkiness of the machine itself. You can get into those corners and along the wall much more tightly than with a larger machine. The tools that come with are simple to use; the brush, crevice tool, extension, and vacuum head are all she really needs. Was a bit concerned about her ability to switch them out, since she has severe arthritis in her hands. But the large buttons that you press to swap them out made it much easier for my mom to manipulate once she got the hang of it.As far as runtime, that turned out not to be an issue at all. This thing can easily do all of the main floor, plus the downstairs of her house and still have some charge left over for quick pick-ups later. Part of this, I think, may be because you don't have to go over and over certain areas of the floor to get it completely vacuumed. The suction in this machine is so efficient, the time it takes to do the vacuuming is far less than it used to be. Now, it's just zip, zip and you're done. That being said, If I had to guess, I'd say a fully charged battery will allow this vacuum to run somewhere around 45 minutes, maybe even a bit longer, before needing to be re-charged. It does have helpful indicator lights, though, to keep you mindful of how much charge you have left just in case you lose track.Couldn't be happier with this Eureka, in fact I'm considering purchasing one for myself. Compared to dragging around a far heavier and corded machine that has a much harder time switching between hard floors and carpet efficiently, the Eureka is a dream to use and does a far better job at actually cleaning than I would ever before have hoped for or imagined.

Wish I'd gotten this LOTS earlier.
I usually use a basic broom or my bigger vacuums on my floors, but when we put our home on the market, I knew I was going to need more help. After watching a video on cleaning/organizing hacks that suggested getting a smaller sweeper for everyday pickup, I finally caved in and spent the money. I have 3,100 sq ft of hardwood, slate, and carpeted floors, and the first time I used it I zipped through the main traffic areas of the entire house in about 20 minutes. It has about 40 minutes of battery power once charged, so on "show days", I'm able to get to all the floors if I move faster. The handles quickly come apart at the press of a button to use the dust and crevice tools (included), so edges and corners can be cleaned quickly. The power head has a wide range of maneuverability to get around furnishings, and while it isn't paper thin, it's thin enough to get under anything that will show visible dust. It also gets quite close to edges from both the side and front of the power head, and as mentioned, a quick release of the power head gets you closer to those edges, and you can opt to use the dust or crevice attachments. Sometimes I don't even attach them - I just detach the power head (available in 2 convenient places along the handle) and get corners real quick before reattaching the power head and moving on. Emptying the debris container is also a fast one-button and a latch process over the trash can, reattach, and done. The unit is also very lightweight, so using it on the carpeted stairs to an upstairs apartment (and carrying it up and down between the apartment and the main house) is a breeze. I use this almost daily, and it has pretty much replaced my regular vacuums. I use it before damp mopping on my hard floors, and since we had new carpet installed throughout, keeping it looking pristine is really easy (we don't allow outdoor shoes on the new carpet). I also quickly run it over the entry mats before people arrive, or a cobweb I somehow missed, which is very handy in making a good first impression. It easily rests against counters or walls if you need to stop for any reason before you're done. My only regret is that I didn't get one of these handy helpers YEARS sooner. It has saved me an incredible amount of time, has made keeping my house up SO much easier, and I actually look forward to buzzing around the house with it, because it feels like instant gratification without a lot of hard work! If you don't have newer carpet, it will still be a perfect tool for quick pickups of pet hair (I also use it on our upholstered furniture and beneath wall-mounted plants whose leaves have dropped to the floor) and everyday debris. I know I'm not going to live without mine in the future!

Outstanding customer service
I had this vacuum for a little over a year and I loved everything about it. Light weight, did a thorough job, very easy to clean, nice design. Unfortunately it recently stopped working properly. After a full charge, it would only stay on for about a minute at a time, shut off, and the lights on it would blink. I tried everything to figure out why this was happening. I am a very meticulous person (it drives my husband nuts) so I knew it wasn’t because of poor device care or damage. The reason for my 4 star review (I had to dock a point for it not working, of course) is that when I contacted Eureka’s customer service about this, they were outstanding. From my experience with them and the resolution we came to, I can tell that they truly stand behind their products. They were courteous and quick to respond to my emails. They ended up issuing me a full refund via check by mail, which I have since received and used to purchase another one of their products because of the positive experience I had with their customer service. I’m chalking up what happened to my vacuum as a fluke. If you are considering purchasing this vacuum I would still highly recommend it or any other Eureka product. Wonderful company
