The Thyroid and The Adrenals can mimic problems that are similiar....a helpful book!
Can't follow everything in there cause I just don't have the time or the energy. Howeverit is a good reference and it listed twenty symptoms of Adrenal Fatigue which showedme that it wasn't all my Thyroid but my Adrenals needed the attention now.The author knows very, very much about The Thyroid as well as what food suppressesthe thyroid, what medications are out there to take, need to always go through yourdoctor for the medications cause not wise to buy the product off internet and treatyourself. Good doctors out there I have two Naturapaths who keep me in balance.I bought this book used and it was just has described by the book seller. Good service, delivered to me in the estimated time posted. Thank you!

Very informative... Awesome upgrade from previous books!
Definitely upgrade from the previous thyroid diet and even the living well w/ hypothyroid books. I learned more from this book, about medication differences and all about hypo and hyperthyroid. I was once a hyperthyroid and they killed my thyroid through radiation procedure and became a hypo. since then I gained up weight from 225 lbs to 286 lbs. 60 lbs! then I started to struggle losing weight because I had no idea what food should I eat and what food I shouldn't eat...My doctor just kept telling me to do diet and exercise and that's all. I guess he doesn't know about food restrictions etc.. You can see a health diet tips on this book which actually works. I started my diet plan without exercise about 3 weeks ago now and I lost 14 lbs. how much more if I do exercise or workouts? Just the right diet will make us lose some weight. This book will tell you what your doctor should've told you -)

Thyroid Diet Revolution
I've gotten halfway through this book and have already learned alot - just not eating broccoli has made a difference. I thought i was eating well but obviously not and still have a lot to learn. Mary has really done great research and explains a lot of concerns and it's nice to know when my endocrinologist talks to me about what is going on with me i actually understand what he's telling me.Understanding what my body is going through is a must for me. I'm a 2x cancer survivor and never knew the after effects that the radiation treatments would do to my body and what challenges i would have to go through later in life. Great book !Now i just need to get my body to respond to everything

This problems too? A MUST READ!
My daughter was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at the age of 16. Her weight gain was astronomical and energy levels so low, people thought she was just lazy. Thanks to her new doctor her thyroid was the first thing she tested. Still struggling with energy levels and weight my daughter researched several books and chose this one. What a great book! The first thing she started was the liquid vitamins. Her energy has doubled. Now she's working on her weight, slowing changing 1 thing at a time based on the books suggestions. It is a slow change but she couldn't be happier to have some kind of guide to help her ever step. I too have read parts to help her as well. For all those suffering from thyroid problems, I say this is a must read!

Not very revolutionary...
Where this diet does have some good information about hypothyroidism (and hyperthyroidism) the information it gives on diet aren't very revolutionary. Some information I found useful... For instance I didn't know calcium suppliments could interfere with the absorption of your thyroid medication, or that certain vitamins and vegetables could help or hinder your thyroid function. However, the title makes it appear as if the book is a detailed eating plan for those who suffer with hypothyroidism, the beginning of the book even continues that image as she talks about how all of the fad diets couldn't possibly work for us, but then she goes on to discuss how complicated hypothyroidism is and how it's impossible to give a detailed eating plan as all those who suffer with hypothyroidism are different. Then she lists a bunch of the very same fad diets she shot down in order of how good she thinks they are... A little bit of useful information, with a dash of ridiculousness and false advertisement bunched together. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone suffering from hypothyroidism.. You could find the information she gives on google. Try that and save $10.

Really informative, better than the last version
I read the previous version of this book and thought it was really helpful. Losing weight with a thyroid problem can be miserable and it was nice to see so many ways to help. This version is organized better and the information seems to be pared down, probably based on more recent findings. It's encouraging to know I'm not alone in my weight struggles and the information in this book is very helpful. The author doesn't give a surefire way to lose weight, but does lay out the most effective ways she's seen for those with thyroid problems to lose. She's careful to say that each person is different and you may have to experiment with several options to find what works best for you. I'm still working on finding what works for me, but this book has been a revelation.

The best so far
I have learned about Mary from Gena Nolin Facebook page 'Thyroid Sexy". I have subscribed to Mary's fb page as well and have been receiving lots of very useful info. Then i read Gena Nolin's book and she mentioned Mary's books in it so i gave it a try. Im glad i did. No offense to Gena Nolin but Mary's book has given me the most information on all things Thyroid. Its very well written and is very easy to understand ( none of that scientific lingo and such ) . You can tell she was writing based on her own experience but not writing about herself. Her research is so extensive - i can not thank her enough for writing this book. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Love this book and refer to it constantly
Love this book and refer to it constantly. Also joined Mary Shomon's newsletter. She's extremely knowledgeable, and I have a few dozen books on the subject, at least.

Well worth a read
Having had little or no information from the NHS I found the content of this book invaluable. If you have a thyroid problem you should definitely read and digest what Mary says. One month after reading it I've lost a stone already

packed full of information.... perhaps too ...
packed full of information....perhaps too much technical information to be taken in during one read. May need to dip in and out of this read
