Perfect upgrade for Home Defense Shotgun, Easy installation and Great Results - Mossberg 500
I decided to do some upgrades to my trusty old Mossberg 500 and one thing that always has been a struggle was finding a solid sight system for it.First I had an ATI heat shield with integrated ghost ring sights but they were made from polymer and mounted too far forward, kind of cheesy honestly. Then I attempted to modify a set of Tru Glos to work on this shotgun but sighting was impossible. So, this time around I was strongly considering the XS sighting systems Ghost ring rail with banded front night sight, which I would have loved to have but the $150 price tag had me on the fence for a 20 year old shotgun. But then it dawned on me, what good is a ghost ring paired with a night sight ? In a dark environment where your night sight would be imperative the black steel ghost ring would not be visible and possibly obscure your view of the front sight. So my best option I this case seemed to be this product. The price is right, installation was pretty straight forward and only took about 20 minutes not counting epoxy dry time and the result is excellent. The white big dot surrounding the tritium vial is very bright and easy to pick up and even as far away as the end of the barrel is the night sight is clearly visible in a dark room.A word of advice when installing , dry fit the sight and tape off around the perimeter. Use that as a grid to abrade the barrel finish only in the area needed, wipe thoroughly with alcohol before applying the epoxy, and the tip from another reviewer of using a zip tie to secure overnight was perfect. You Will Need to Purchase Epoxy for Installation, I ordered JB Weld along with the sight for another $4, worked great.I cant say 100% because I have only just installed it but as it stands now the sight is a great buy.

Wonderful
Easy to install with some JB weld, looks great, glows bright, and looks factory once installed.I want to write a longer review but the honest truth is, this was the best investment I have put on my shotgun in a long time. I am not gonna lie and say its cheap (I am pretty stingy), but it is worth the cost. Honestly I love how bright the yellow is in low light, and with the tritium dot it is easy to find a reference point in the dark, and the glow-ring feature is nice. Really love this sight, and if you are on the fence, this is a great sight for home defense. If you are looking for one for Hunting or Sporting Clays though I would not recommend this sight (go look at the hi-viz fiberoptic sights if you need a brighter sight for those needs), but that's not why I bought it, and I doubt that's what brought you to this product in the first place.

Great product, just what I was looking for on my 590 retro.
Sub $60 seems to be a pretty good price for a tritium sight even though of course I wish it was less.In concept it's not difficult at all to install. But can be a little nerve-wracking when obsessing over getting it perfectly straight. I used JB weld and clamped it on for 12 or so hours, and then let it sit an additional 24 just to be safe.No issues with it moving under recoil or anything. Easy to pick up and seems to do the job exactly as described.

A KISS solution to middle of the night scenario.
Item arrived without mounting instructions. However, company website and YT videos are all you'll need. Checked front bead size with a caliper before ordering. Mine hit upper limit 0.14 as described. Fit was very good. Easy install: alcohol prep, score/scuff underside of sight, JBW, alcohol and Q-tip cleanup. Large, yellow circle is a stand out in full light. Soft glow in low light, easy to acquire and point. This replaced a red dot. No more concerns about battery life.

Fantastic upgrade
Mossberg Shockwave: Fits great, looks great and easy install. A fantastic upgrade from factory bead sight to tactical home defense. The hardest obstacles were removing factory bead ( I used needle nose pliers and it was tough to back off but it gave with some force). Installing the replacement bead with large fingers is tough to thread because it's so small and it has fine threads, be patient you'll get it after a few tries. After mixing the JB weld bought separately and placing it on the XS sight I zip tied the sight onto the barrel. Making sure the sight was straight I cleaned away all epoxy that bled out with Q-tips, toothpicks and alcohol. I'm prior military police and former deputy sheriff and I highly recommend this upgrade. NOTE: Degrease the area and sight before the epoxy goes on.

Works!
Works just as it should, good daylight visibility and good glow from the tritium. You need to know what tritium is supposed to look like and understand the entire large dot doesn’t glow just a smaller center dot. I installed it on a Mossberg 590S with a factory bead sight. The XS sight won’t fit on the factory sight but a replacement bead sight is supplied that’s specifically for the XS. I test fit the sight on the new bead and taped around it very tightly then removed the sight and scuffed the area under the sight with a red scotch pad. Then used JB Weld (MIX THOROUGHLY) and used a tooth pick to make sure the hole the bead goes in is completely coated with epoxy. I clamped with a simple wood clamp with rubber feet (light pressure is all that’s needed) and cleaned up the excess JB with rubbing alcohol. Cleanliness is 100% critical installing this sight. Thoroughly clean the area EVERY STEP with rubbing alcohol for good results
