Works with my Yamaha CP-300 piano
Works great with my Yamaha CP-300 piano. I unfortunately bought an off brand pedal the first time and it did not work. Buying this Yamaha brand pedal worked perfectly! Super happy with it

Name brand quality
I’ve always had great luck with Yamaha products over the years. They seem to take great pride in their quality and manufacturing techniques and I have nothing but good things to say about Yamaha music equipment.

Good pedal for Yamaha with half-damper capability
This is a robust, quiet, functional pedal with half-damper capability for keyboards that respond to it. Ridged rubber patches on the bottom reduce slippage on a variety of surfaces, although it still moves around a bit on hardwood floors. The range on the half-damper is narrow, at least when used with a P-225, so using it well takes some adaptation. Finally, it's noteworthy that Yamaha uses the opposite polarity from many other popular keyboards, so check compatibility if you intend to use it with something other than a Yamaha.

Plug and Play on Yamaha Piaggero NP-12
Needed a pedal for my son's ongoing lessons and he took right right to it. Plugs right into the jack on the NP-12 and off he went. Very solid and sturdy build quality pedal, very grippy rubber base that keeps it planted to the floor, no sliding at all.

Quality
I have a Yamaha key board, and Guitar Center sold me a Pro-Line sustain pedal, insisting that it would work with my keyboard (they were out of stock on the Yamaha FC3A). It was reversed in polarity i.e. full sustain with pedal not pushed. I wasted an hour and a half following manual, Youtube, and Yamaha's web site, to no effect. I bought the Yamaha FC3A from Amazon, it arrived the same day. Plugged it in no problems works correctly. It also feels like it is better quality. About $15.00 more which is not much considering the time I wasted by getting poor advice.

A necessary accessory IMO; far superior the tiny pedal Yamaha sells with the keyboard
This is a necessary accessory in my opinion. The tiny sustain pedal Yamaha packages with their keyboards is just a placeholder, only works on non-carpeted surfaces and has only its small size to recommend it (if frequently transporting your equipment). Otherwise you're missing out if you don't immediately replace it with one of these. I've read reviews suggesting that some buyers have had them break or fail or be too noisy during use, but I've experienced none of that. If it doesn't hold up at least a year I'll be adding an addendum to this review, but so far it's great.

Good but not terribly sensitive
This is far better than the stock sustainer peddles provided with most mid-range digital pianos, but don't expect it to replicate an acoustic piano pedal. It could also stand to be a little heavier as it can slide around a bit on a wood or tile floor. One quirky thing I've noticed: if you have the pedal depressed when you turn the piano on, it will work in reverse, sustaining when not pressed and vice versa.
