Comprehensive Lactation Consultant Exam Review Paperback – 20 July 2006

I have found this book a really interesting way of considering all sorts of aspects of knowledge in relation to the exam. I have used it to test my knowledge and been able to go away and explore further issues I felt weak on.Very usable presentation style and CD of photos has stimulated much discussion!

The book includes 3 full practice exams. I took one a year before the actual exam and made a 65, I took the second one a few months after starting to really study and got a 75. The last exam I took a month before the actual examination and got an 85 - which is the grade I received on the actual test. I found it so helpful to know which areas I needed to work on.

I find the format very beneficial to the way that I study. Review, review, review with full test formats and short, clear explanations of the correct answers. Very good choice for the test taker with ~1 year to prepare for initial exam or recertification.

I thought the book would have more detail, but it only consists of practice exams. The rationales for the answers are very short. The practice tests are good, but I felt I needed more so I also ordered the Core Curriculum for Lactation Consultants.

Too much information to process its a very complicated book

Utilizing these practice exams helped me in preparing for the IBCLC exam. These practice exams helped me narrow my focus on areas I had more trouble with.
