The future of food: goo.
Background:After about 3 years of psychic abuse, which eventually took its toll on my body, I began my journey to heal and rebuild myself inside out. My journey began with a lot of reading, misdiagnosis (this I can't blame the medical community for because in truth no one but you can know just how you feel), and wrong paths, I decided to take natural alternatives for a spin.I bought this unit and the nutribullet 900w. The latter arrived first so I had about two weeks to test it out. It worked very well for the most part. No issues with functionality. My concern was the size. It was too limiting given the items and quantity i needed to make. You see, I intend to go raw and have 90% of my food from plants, herbs and spices. So the nutribullet did not work for me for this specific need. However, given the small nature of the individual cups for the ninja, i may well purchase a nutribullet in the future.Enter Ninja ultimate blender. It is huge! And the blades are rather intimidating (think clean up here). First use: I had chucked it full of ginger, red spinach, kale, whole orange (peel, white, meat and all), whole lime, whole lemon, pineapple skin, pineapple fruit, bok choi, cauliflower, and a mango slices (with skin of course). After completely pulverizing the mix, I marvel at the now goo that lay in the blender but was given a short panic when i noticed smoke coming out of the back of the blender base. I later found out this was because the lid did not gear properly into the blade mast. Which I suppose caused too much pressure on the motor. This hasn't happened in subsequent uses however, so be mindful of this if and when you buy yours.I have had this for a little over a month and use it almost every day. This is going to be the future of food. No more synthetic supplements or medication. All the processed nonsense that is available in the stores and tagged "food" today, will be done away with in the future. When we continually ingest these toxins where our body expects nourishment to help it maintain proper functioning and health, our liver becomes over taxed. Subsequently, it is unable to maintain the required level of balance in the body. A build up of toxins cause the growth of cancerous centers in the body. Where the liver is strong, healthy and well taken care of, cancer can never form. Do some research yourself: where cancer has developed, such an individual has an unhealthy liver. That is the sole purpose of the liver. Where it forms, the liver must be addressed. Restoring it to proper function reverses the disease.

Great for Green Smoothies
Been using it for a 5 days (2 green smoothie productions per day), and so far could not be happier. I chose this model because it had better reviews for making green smoothies, and it has been fantastic for that purpose (everything gets well blended, nothing stringy or gritty left over). I never tried making green smoothies in a different blender, so I don't have a direct comparison, but for me, it's done a great job and I'm happy with the purchase, even with the higher price point. So I don't know if a Vitamix or similarly higher priced blender would do better, but I'm comfortable saying that it could not perform twice as well (though costs almost twice as much as this unit).I also use ice in the smoothies (and sometimes frozen fruit), all of which have been blended perfectly, with no chunks of ice or fruit remaining.Lastly, other reviews have mentioned to be careful with the removable blades (and the manual states the same cautions), and I'd like to echo that, as I'm typing this with a band-aid on my index finger. There are plenty of places to grip that will let you wash the bladed components easily (cut myself during the initial cleaning, before I took the warnings too seriously). They're more like razors than they are like knives, so treat them accordingly.I'm enjoying the product, am happy with all aspects of it, and consider it to have been money well spent at ~$250. I'll update the review of longevity becomes and issue, but I have no reason to suspect that yet.

I bought this blender for my business. I have another one for use at home, which works great! This particular USED blender I bought from Amazon doesn't work as well as my first one, because it doesn't seal very well anymore. I will probably have to buy a new pitcher portion of this blender. But if you can find this model NEW, buy it! It is well worth the extra money to buy it new...lesson learned.

Awesome (but loud)
We love our Ninja! We've had it for six months now and use it 3-4 times a day making protein shakes and smoothies. I especially like the single serve blend cup - it blends fast, it's simple and you just rinse it out when you're finished. Only downside is it's REALLY loud. We live in a single family home, but I feel like if you're in an apartment, your neighbors will not be fans.

Not good, sent it back and bought the Vitamix like I knew I should. Costs more, but it works great and it is made in Ohio and not China like the Ninja. No comparison in the two blenders, the Ninja is not even a good attempt at being a Vitamix.

My wife and I love this thing
My wife and I love this thing. Smoothies of any variety in the individual containers and anything in the larger. In the larger I putfresh unpeeled Granny Smith apples - cored and quartered along with canned pear halves and a little cinnamon and got a really good saucein a few seconds. Jalapenos, fire roasted peppers and canned tomatoes into a salsa base or just the tomatoes for a thick juice drink.Plenty of power - steady on the countertop- cleans very easy. I was surprised by the size - it's big ! - not a problem as this is a plus for me.At 75 my teeth needed some help and I am getting it morning through night.

Not so good
Don't waste your money. If you don't baby it she smokes! All my stuff gets stuck in the corners and I have to open the lid and stir it repeatedly to achieve the smoothie. I do not know why they'd eliminate the round style? It sounds like a Chevy big block at a car show. My original small mini ninja kicks this ones butt!

This blender is a beast!
This blender is our first "real" blender and we are impressed. We've made veggie smoothies with carrots, ginger, etc...no problem. We've made fruit smoothies with frozen fruits, no problem. This blender is a beast, and all the drinks come out nice and smooth. I will say that it is VERY loud on the maximum setting, and we ended up using the same box it shipped in as a cone of silence...but not really; we'll have to come up with another solution to see if we can minimize the noise. I would definitely recommend this blender to friends.
