Made in Abyss Official Anthology - Layer 1: Irredeemable Cave Raiders

This is a the first anthology book from the Made in Abyss Universe. Although not quite as good as the main story, it is a fun collection of different short stories from different artists. It's cool because it kind of expands a bit on the characters in different situations then we would typically see in the main story. It can be a little lighter in tone. If you are a fan of the main Made in Abyss story you would probably enjoy the anthology books too. Also the art work is beautiful as it normally is. If you are a fan of the series I'd recommend this and the other books in the anthology series for you.

If you love the Made in Abyss series, just hit “Buy Now.” Don’t even think about it. Don’t hesitate. It’s totally worth it! Definitely not as good as a continuation of the anime or release of the next manga volume, BUT it absolutely helped in quenching my thirst for more Made in Abyss! The majority are cute and funny, very wholesome, mostly non-canon, comics with some really nice artist adaptations, etc. A bunch of reviews say that it’s short but it’s about the same size as the other books. I mean, it’s definitely short in that there could always be more— who could get enough, after all? But in terms of the length of the anthology itself, I think it’s more or less appropriate/ what I expected, based on the lengths of the actual manga. Great addition for any fan! I’m laughing at how generic and cliche this review sounds but it’s really such a good series and fun little anthology, I couldn’t help it. Enjoy!

Made In Abyss Official Anthology is a fun collection of shorts from several different authors. Some are short stories, whereas others are 4 panel skits that usually are pretty silly. The highlight of the collection is in fact the collection itself. Getting to see so many talented authors takes on the series is a treat. My personal favorite being the one by Tetsuya Imai, anything exploring the wildlife of the Abyss is an instant hit with me. I can never get enough of that stuff.That being said this is an anthology, so the quality of is all over the place. Some of the jokes didn't land for me, maybe something got lost in the cultural divide. Regardless though it was a treat so see so many different authors, anthologies ars always a fun way to find new authors. I hope that we might get a second collection one day. -MickManga

The book was a little shorter than I expected, but hey, it's more Made in Abyss, so who am I to argue? Pretty much all of the stories were non-canon and done in the 4-koma panelling style, focusing more on comedy rather than being 'harrowing' like the description suggests.They were all fun to read regardless, with one of the most stand-out ones (to me) being a short story with Bondrewd and Ozen fooling around as a stand-up comedy duo. Quick warning, don't buy this if you haven't read up to volume 5 or watched the Bondrewd arc-- there's a few minor spoilers if you aren't already past that point. Overall, I'm pretty excited for the next anthology collection!

Not exactly what I expected but im a fan of the series and I like it. Funny, cute the usual irredeemable. Not sure what else to say but good art work the people had and the mini stories too. This well do well in my collection. P.S I would also love a Nanachi plushie
