This product works!
My dog was a rescue. Her teeth were already bad. I bought this product along with a dog dental ket and regularly did her teeth. Soon the tatar and Plaque just started to fall off. I will say it takes patience on your part and with time it works. This is not an overnight miracle. You need the dogs cooperation as well. If your dog doesn't like this treatment you should consider a vet to do the job. It is also not a replacement for a regular vet check up. But with persistence and patience it great for in between vet visits.

Not really a toothpaste, but a soothing gel
My rescue cat has had inflamed gums. I bought this hoping it might be a good substitute for brushing her teeth. But after seeing how it works, I instead chose to continue brushing her teeth gently with a pet toothpaste and then AFTERWARDS rub this on her gums to help calm the inflammation.I have tried this on myself, hoping it would calm a cut on my finger, and it did! The Aloe Vera provides a nice, soothing, healing experience. After feeling the effects first-hand, I now know that I am giving my little furbaby some relief when I apply it to her gumline. After three months of use, I can see a difference. No more red inflammation. I just take a small bead onto my finger and gently smooth it along her gumline. It has a neutral, aloe taste and my cat puts up with the daily ritual!Note: The label says that this also freshens breath, but that is not my experience. My cat continues to have bad breath, despite having had her teeth cleaned and her daily oral hygiene.

Trying the new label again
I bought this years ago when it was marketed as a soothing Pet Gel formulated to heal, condition and deodorize. I loved it then and thought it did wonders to soften hardened tarter so you could easily scrape it away. When they changed the label to a toothpaste instead of a Pet Gel, I didn't think it worked as well and started using an enzymatic toothpaste for my dogs. I did like the idea that Oxyfresh would sooth and condition gums on the old label. I decided to try it again because the enzymatic toothpaste just doesn't seem to give me the same good results as I had years ago. I've purchased Oxyfresh again and hope I can see some improvement over the other toothpaste for dogs.

Better Value Than Petrodex
It's a clear gel. Has a slight chemical odor , but my cats were okay with it. Petrodex is also good but it is expensive for toothpaste. Other products are horrible!

My Cats Hate The Taste
This was bought for my two cats in an effort to prevent any dental diseases or tartar buildup. However, they absolutely hated the taste of this. I had to hold them down and rub the toothpaste around their teeth while they tried to spit it out. My cats are very friendly and gentle but when it came time to brush their teeth, they tried as hard as they could to get away. To be clear, I can shove my finger around their mouth and rub their gum line and they just sit there. Same with a tooth brush. It isn't the brushing that bothers them, it's the toothpaste.About the toothpaste itself, it has a chemically smell (not bad but not something a cat would like in my opinion) and it is a clear gel. It is fairly easy to use, just rub it on your cat's teeth with your clean finger or a clean toothbrush. Preparing the cat to get their teeth brushed is the hardest and most time-consuming part. It takes weeks or even months of getting used to fingers/brushes in their mouth and the toothpaste's taste. When I used it, my cats breath did change to smell like the gel. It has not made my cats sick in the two-three months that I have used it so that is good.I did end up buying another toothpaste and they don't mind the taste of that so much so I will not be buying this again. If you have a cat, this might not be the best product for them because of the taste. I wasn't able to return it because the window to return it closed but if your cat doesn't like it, don't wait to see if they get used to it. Try to return it and buy another toothpaste for them.

It does work!
This is not a fake review. I purchased this product with my own money and am not paid to post. I am on my second bottle of this gel and it works phenomenally. My dog had reeeaaallly bad plaque I guess you could call it ( it was worse. He had hardened tar on his gum line that was black and a scaler could not remove it). However this gel has softened it up all over his teeth and it looks a billion times better. I am so happy I found this product. Wish I had before and after pics. Please please buy this for your furrball. Bad oral hygeine can lead to heart disease and other conditions. How to use: I just get a normal napkin (I found toilet paper to be too thin as it tips) and use that to wipe the gel all throughout his teeth with my finger and the napkin. I focus on the back molars because that's we're the most tar is. And thats it. I use this at least once a week. And do my best to put this gel on my poodle at night time. This is so much easier to use than to brush my dogs teeth.
