DancoHot Stem for 2-Handle Kohler Tub and Shower Faucets, 6N-7H, Brass and Chrome, 1-Pack (17017)

I had a hot water stem failure on an approximately 50 year old kohler shower faucet. Couldn't find a replacement locally and took a chance on this one and it works perfectly. Not sure about the longevity will see. Don't over tighten when shutting off.

Excellent retrofit for an obsolete part

It fits very well in my old Kohler bathtub faucet so the faucet is woring again. Faucet stems of the older models are hard to find in a local hardware store. The only thing I am curious about is that my old stem was broken at its plastic thread, the same part of this stem is also made of plastic. If it last as long as the original then I will be happy with. Nothing last forever.

Well made used to replace worn out one

It’s a great replacement cartridge for older Kohler 2 valve showers. Only place I have been able to find them.

Perfect replacement for my Kohler hot water valve. We could not find the part at all, and were having to makeshift a stopgap solution for our bathtub tap, but this is exactly identical to the original part and resolved our issue quickly and easily. I am not a fixit person. I definitely am no plumber. So to have a solution I can manage personally is absolutely invaluable.

Went in easily and worked. No issues. I did both hot and cold sides. escutcheons came out with the valve and had to buy new ones. You can find them for $8 don't spend $24 on Amazon.

Had two leaky faucets in bathtub, these were the replacement cartridge. Installed both, faucets off, opened water supply, no dripping, ok so far. Opened faucets, good flow, but: neither would shut off! After fussing a bit, wound up using the new seal washers with the old faucets. Stopped the major leaking. Called Danco, without any questioning they send me a new set of H/C free. Five months later the leaking got pretty bad again, so decided to install the set they sent, did nothing other than remove the old and install the new cartridges. This time: one actually worked, the other same thing: held until turned it on, would not turn it off. So, one out of four worked.... After several tries with the non-working faucet, I noticed a clunking sound when the faucet first was opened, and by pushing directly in on the stem, the flow would slow but not stop. Seems that maybe the cartridge itself is not seating in the faucet and moves, but I'm not sure what's going on. Expensive way to replace the seals, as another reviewer with the same issue noted. Maybe it's just me but others seem to have the same issue.
