Works as designed
This was an easy hook-up, as the removable terminal blocks make for quick speaker wire connections. I have a 6x6 Matrix Controller to distribute music throughout my basement in 5-zones (with speaker pairs), using 5-keypads (on Cat-6 wiring). I installed one of the keypads in my Home Theater (HT) with a dedicated 5.1.4 Atmos set-up. In the HT, this Automatic Speaker Switch enables me to hear music sources at the Controller to play through my HT front towers when the keypad is activated. When I play a source in the HT (4k-Blu-ray, Roku or CD), the switch automatically enables hearing dedicated HT sources. I had to adjust the "delay" on the switch just a little (according to directions) for pauses and soft passages on Blu-rays and so far it works flawlessly! This is just what I needed at an affordable price.

Fantastic niche product-- Nothing else like it for the price.
The media could not be loaded. I had an idea to wire my Echo Dot into my home theater system such that she could chime in and "take over" the speakers when necessary, and at all other times the speakers would receive audio from my primary A/V receiver. It took a crazy amount of research before I found something that was both cheap enough to afford and quality enough to avoid degrading the signal, damaging my equipment, and/or catching fire.I'm glad to say this little box worked PERFECTLY for what I needed! I actually have my main system set up with two pairs of speakers, one of which functions as my left and right channels, while the other pair is wired in series as my center channel. I stuck this box into the center speakers' circuit such that they remain the center channel when my main receiver is using them, but Alexa's audio uses them as left and right. As you can hear in the attached video, by only taking over the center speakers, Alexa's interruptions aren't nearly as intrusive as they'd be if ALL speakers were taken over when she talked! Even if you have a normal, single-speaker center channel, it'd be just as easy to wire it up to have your left and right speakers as your Alexa-commandeerables.Anyway, you're going to have to have some patience when you're adjusting the sensitivity and switch-back delay. Expect to test-drive it for a bit between adjustments-- You probably won't know you've nailed it until you've lived with it for a bit. I will say that it's important to eliminate as much noise (the interference kind) from the trigger input circuit as possible, because then you can crank the sensitivity WAY up, reducing the occurrence of late/missed triggers without the risk of false positive triggers.10/10 product, -1 point for the adjustment dials being super sensitive, +1 right back for the nice, soft *click* of the relay.

Didn't last long
Well - I bought two of these. My latest purchase died after about 3 months unfortunately. When I say died, what I mean is that suddenly the delay feature doesn't work. The problem with not being able to adjust the delay is that the switch constantly switches back and forth constantly on a hair trigger and it becomes basically a $90 paper weight. I have to believe there is a better quality speaker switch out there than this one. I will say it worked just fine for those 3 months. I bought one that has been going for almost a year which is good to see. Although they both worked for a time, I would also say they are extremely finicky and I wasn't impressed with the product in the first place, but managed to get a setting that worked (until now). Good luck...

Works as advertised, just need to tweak the settings for your use.
I bought this for a customer with a Bose System and a Pioneer Plasma TV that has external speakers that sound fantastic compared to most TV speakers. There are times they only watch the TV without the Bose and the main reason was they did not have the center channel Bose speaker, there was a repair done and it was misplaced after clearing the room. The Center channel speaker has 80% of the content of movies and 95% of shows. So we used this to connect the BOSE center channel OUPUT to the Pioneer speakers to act as the center Channel. Now when the Bose system is turned on it disconnects the output from the Pioneer to the speakers and connects the speakers to the Bose Bass module amp.The only potential problem I noticed was a slight high frequency click/pop noise out the Bose speakers when it was switched. It wasn't loud or problematic just what I noticed. So I took 1 star out for that, mind that it could be the Bose/Pioneer causing the noise not the unit itself but I have no way to prove it out.The customer has not noticed (It's been over a year now)or said anything in regard to that, but I have too good of hearing and anything extra (hissing, buzzing, clicking, faint digital noise, etc.) I will notice. If I get to install another in the future I will update if the pop/click noise is there or not and update the rating. There are multiple speaker & dual amp switch boxes available, for around one hundred to two hundred dollars, but they do not 'auto switch' to my knowledge and they take up a whole rack space. This product works best as an auto switching carefree item.Having dealt with many items that don't do what they say I am impressed with this item working as stated.

It works, but there are better options out there
Bought this switch so I can use the left and right speaker of my home theater with a Sonos Amp or with the Yamaha. After some adjusting I got it to work but after a while it started acting up and making a popping sound when switching. Ended up replacing it with a Niles SPK-1, and it works perfectly. The Niles unit uses the 12V remote output from the Yamaha receiver to tell it when to switch over. The Niles unit can also accept heavier gauge wires.
