I use one inch pieces of silicone for patching together polyethylene tubing (from hardware) for siphons and pumping wine. Silicone never leaks

For a product with inherent anti kink properties they managed to pack in such a way as to kink the hose every 4-5inches

was very weak and tore apart easily

On my power steering rack for my 1976 Mercury Capri II there is a fluid/balance tube that goes from the left side to the right. It's not bolted in, there are just 2 rubber grommets that seal it up. The tube itself is long enough it can't come out.The 2 rubber grommets were torn and trying to find this part is near impossible. Measuring the tube, it was 8mm in outside diameter. The tube in each end where this fits is about 11. I ordered this 7mmx11mm tube and cut a small bit off for the ends of the tubes. Works well, no more leaks. Seems to hold up well to power steering fluid, it doesn't dissolve...yet. It's been a couple of months without any issues.I have lots left over to sell to various friends who need some.
