This is a very good authentic fennel seeds. No weird smell, no non-sense. Highly recommend this product.

Sprouts OK, very slow to germinate, and grow out, but the flavor/fragrance make it with it. The picture is from the ninth day after the initial 24 hour soak, I’m going to let it go several more days before harvest. I started with 3 Tbs of seeds. Edit: Adding a picture of the fennel harvested on the eleventh day after the initial overnight soak. Fennel on the left, fenugreek on the right. It came out of the jar as a solid ‘log,’ as I rinsed it repeatedly in a large bowl of water to remove the seeds that didn’t germinate, and hulls, I ‘massaged’ it until the sprouts untangled, and looked as you see it. The sweetest sprout I’ve ever tasted! I will always have a jar(or two) going with fennel.

Normally I only get small amounts of fennel seed at the grocery store. These are great to get so much. What a great value! I use them in any tomato sauce or anything with fresh fennel. I sautee them and add them in. They really enhance any Italian tomato sauce. I also saute fresh roasted fennel with fresh roasted grape tomatoes and then sauteed these seeds and make an amazing fennel tomato soup with the seeds blended in and a few on top. They really enhance the flavor greatly.

The fennel seeds were packaged very nicely in a resealable bag and they smelled super fresh and wonderful upon opening it. I also love that it was true to the description. It's definitely a pound and a half bag of fennel seeds.

It tastes fine, very delicate and subtle. Unlike other seeds I have sprouted, this one isn't easy to sprout. It took longer and the sprouts are weak, not robust. Still, I can use them in sandwiches, salads, etc. for the added flavor.

Although I prefer the fennel seeds from my own plants, it is winter and I ran out. I am pleased with this order of seeds and will certainly oder them again if/when I run out and cannot pick from my own plants.

The packaging is excellent and can be used for long term storage. Compared to fennel seeds purchased for a few years from a local health food store in another town I previously lived in, I have to use a larger serving to attain the desired flavor results. Otherwise, I'm satisfied.
