I’ve been searching for a phone mounting option for my ‘98 BMW K1200RS and there aren’t many. Even the forums come up pretty empty with options. With this, I was able to use in place of the handlebar mount bolt and it functions perfectly. Seems sturdy and is the right size ball for my application. Pretty simple setup and well thought out design.

I really like RAM's mounts, and this ball is a good, quick, easy, non-ugly way for me to move the GoPro/GPS/phone mounts between my motorcycle and my wife's. Be advised, however, that the included bolts are for imports, not domestic bikes. Both my bike and my wife's are Harleys, so I ended up ordering some bolts with the correct threads and I was in business. This was the reason I took a star away - I can't imagine why HARLEY DAVIDSON wouldn't be the FIRST manufacturer you would want your motorcycle-oriented product to be compatible with. Meh...all it took to fix was an inexpensive bolt, so I'm a happy camper. If you want to put one of these on a Harley (and I assume most other domestic bikes, as well), look for a bolt that matches the following description: 5/16-18 x 2 1/4 Socket Cap Screw FMW Fasteners has a perfect fit bolt with the part number: 2162086

I bought this for my 2020 Yamaha R3 because it was getting annoying pulling out my phone from my backpack and switching songs. So I got myself a Quadlock mount with ball adapters and also used this. At first, the mount will NOT fit at first... at least it didn't for me, the diameter of the tube that's suppose to go down into the handlebar clamp is way too big so what I had to do was take a metal file and I sat down for 30 minutes filing down the sides in order for it to fit. And so it did! Next, in order to screw this into the handle bar, the screws that come with this WILL NOT FIT! You need to stop by your local hardware store and look for a M6 x 50 mm screw with an allen head wrench! This fit me perfectly and once you have done all that, the part will fit. Overall, i'm very satisfied with this and it's very nice and secure.

The ball mount base was perfect for letting me mount a GoPro to the back fender of my Honda Rebel 500. There are already two M8 threads in the fender that I was able to choose from, once I removed the rear seat. It worked out perfectly.
