Nordic Ware Microwave 3 Piece Dinnerware Set

The set is lightweight and sturdy but it is plastic unfortunately. Good for the price though. Scratches easily but you can only see the scratches in a well lit area and you have to look closely. Not suitable for guests. Great for students/bachelors etc.

I have several of these large plates and bowls and love them. They are durable, wash well in the dishwasher. Yes, they scratch if you cut with a sharp knife on them, and yes the bowls will stain if your children cook say, spaghettios, in the microwave in them. Can’t seem to find them anywhere right now so I bought this set to at least get 1 more large plate and a bowl to add to what we have. One of the plates was cracked terribly when the set arrived. Not worth the price to keep when 1 of the 3 items was so cracked it wasn’t usable. Had to return. However, I do recommend these in general.

UPDATENordic Ware customer services continues to be horrible ....So Nordic Ware sent an email telling me that the product was delivered to me - and ignored the issue of sending scratched - apparently used items instead of new - and also ignored that I was being charged for return shipping.So I called Amazon again and then I received an email from Nordic Ware.They said they do not understand why Amazon is charging me for return shipping, and sent me a label, and they want me to box up the items and deliver to a UPS store.Problem is that I the box was thrown away last week - so now they want me to buy a box to for shipping which is ridiculous.So I called Amazon and they sent message to Nordic Ware asking if they can send me a box, or pay for my box that I will buy at UPS, or ship the dinnerware back in the plastic bag it came wrapped in.Disappointed - the plate has scratches apparently from previous use - perhaps I received a 2nd hand item?Overall very pricey for what you get.Tried to return but they want to charge me for return shipping.So I called Amazon to ask why I should be charged to return a used product.They said Nordic Ware will contact me within 2 days to try to resolve issue.Will follow up .....

So worth it! I was nervous with some of these reviews. I have an issue with carrying heavy things, losing grip and dropping them due to nerve damage on hands. So I prefer the dinnerware that is unbreakable. There aren't a lot of options that are also nice looking and microwave safe.In this case I made sure the seller was marked as amazon to make sure it was the actual brand of nordic ware instead of some crappy imitation.I'm not sure if people are getting bad products with sharp edges, or broken pieces because they are purchasing from third party sellers. But I can tell you that these were worth purchasing I did drop the bigger plate as I was removing it from the package it didn't break. They work great for microwaves and are dishwasher safe. They don't strain from food or warp with heat. Even better they look nice and don't look cheap. After finding that my son tried to microwave on a melamine plate, I got a set of these to see if they would work to replace our everyday dishes. They have the feel and general weight of melamine, but are fully microwavable and are easy to clean. I ended up with a total of 8 sets for my family of four. The bowl is a good size for soup, salad or cereal, and the two sizes of plates work well for various meals (smaller plates for breakfast or a snack, large for lunch and dinner). After two months of use I haven't noticed any knife scarring or discoloration on any of the dishes. I would recommend this to anyone who wants durable plates and bowls with microwave capabilities.Edit-After owning and using them constantly for over a year, I can say that they hold up well but do start showing their wear. Many foods stain them (berry pies, pasta sauce, etc) and they get rough over time. I have been very happy with them (especially for the price) but they do ugly up over time.

I purchased the Nordic Ware Microwave 3 Piece Dinnerware Set before seeing the comments and later was concerned when I read the reviews saying that the pieces are glued together. My set arrived today. It does SEEM like they are, however, they are joined together with a rubbery sort of adhesive disc. Think "Silly Putty" on steroids. I was able to separate the pieces very easily. I filled my sink with hot water and soaked the whole stack. Then gently twisted them in a rotating manner (I did not try to PULL them apart). Once the rubbery stuff warmed up, separating the dishes was very easy. It took less than five minutes. There is NO residue at all.I LOVE Nordic Ware. I got this set for my niece who is moving into her first apartment. It is sturdy, a good size and does not get hot in the microwave. I will be buying 2 more sets for our camper and it will be all me an the hubs will need on the road for dishware.Perfect!

Slapping on a Made in U.S.A. label doesn't make it better if you have bad QC.Pieces were gummy glued together, powdery residue all over product, permanent scuff marks, and even some blackening was present in all five sets I got. Four of the sets were packaged the same and another came from elsewhere with bubble wrap which almost looked like a return.I'm pretty much done with home purchases here and going back to local stores where I can see what quality looks like. Lots of chi-no stuff too flooding these parts.

Inexpensive 3 piece set that I use in the office for lunch. The bowl is a perfect size and I like having the option of a smaller and larger plate. They are easy to clean and don't take up a lot of space in my drawer. Only downside is that they tend to get a little too hot in the microwave. This is particularly problematic when heating up soup in the bowl. I often find myself carrying the bowl back to my office very gingerly (with my fingers barely touching the edges). All in all, a good product and a good price but I'd love a little less heat absorption.

These are exactly what I need. Light and of good quality though the edges should be softened or gone over with sandpaper or something. Can't wait to use them! :)

Bought these due to having 3 kids with asd and was tired of broken dishes. Finishing is a little rough on a couple edges but the plates and bowls are still great. Exactly what I was expecting.Very pleased

Really like this set a lot! They're just the right size, light! I'd buy them again if I needed to!

Nice Hard Plastic Microwaveable. I have a twenty times high heat wave that works well with these dishes. I bought them because I need plates that could go in the wave. The wave is much stronger than anything I have owned before and these dishes are perfect for what I needed them to do. If I have guests, I heat what I need in the wave using the dishes and transfer them onto my good dishes after heating, for my fussy guest. The design is nice for Plastic wear.
