Honeysuckle is one of the oldest medicinal herbs in known history. Sometimes referred to as woodbine, European honeysuckle was once used widely to treat urinary complaints, asthma, and during childbirth. However, in traditional Chinese medicine, honeysuckle has been used medicinally for thousands of years. Flower buds should also be harvested in the summer. Taste: Fragrant, the taste is mild but slightly bitter. Preparation: Use 6-10g tea per 150ml of water. Heat water to 90-95℃ and steep for 1-3 minutes.

Smells horrible
I grew up with honeysuckle in my backyard and was so excited to visit that nostalgia with this tea.... but it just smells so obnoxiously peppery... I'm concerned about the quality and sanitation of this product. I received a large amount in a timely manner but that doesn't matter if I can't enjoy the product.

Traditional Medicine with Modern Scientific Backing
Ever since last fall, when I read the article in NATURE about how honeysuckle tea has broad-spectrum anti-viral properties against several types of flu, every time I felt the least bit of flu coming on I made myself a strong pot of this tea (with honey, since it is a tad bitter) and drank it until my tummy felt a little wobbly. And whatever symptoms I felt I was coming down with were over in 24 hours. I'm not a medical doctor, but this stuff did work for me and the article in NATURE, a prestigious, peer-reviewed journal, provides a solid scientific explanation for how it works. I recommend trying it and—if it works for you too—keeping a stash of it during the flu season.
