A Fine, Fine School

Amazing illustrations and story
I brought this book for my 4 and 6 year old nieces and 7 year old nephew but of course i had to read it before giving it to them and i gotta say, i might buy another to keep for myself! The writing isn’t too long and has a rhythm to it that makes it more enjoyable to read. I specifically loved the illustrations of the children and the dog beans as well as their reactions to the principle during each announcement. There is so much to see in each page so it is important to pay close attention to the illustrations! I wouldn’t say there is much of a important message to the story but more like a fun read, maybe it could have a message like “too much of something could be harmful even if its something important like school”

Perfect for Year End Teacher Gift
I purchased this book as part of a year end gift for my son's teacher, and I'm glad I did. The pictures are cute, the story is even cuter. What a fun way for to celebrate the end of the school year and transition into summer break. A Fine, Fine book and the perfect addition to any preschool-early elementary classroom!

Funny story with a twist
My kid did not want to pick "A Fine, Fine School" for a bed time story, but after his dad read it to him he wanted to read it almost every night. The book size is easy to hold and the printed words are big enough to read. My kinder kid was able to read the book by himself without any issues. The length of the story isn't too long or too short.

More school please?
My students quickly caught on to the pattern of this book, and had fun making predictions. They really loved taking a close look at the illustrations, picking out funny little notes, and pointing out how the character's expressions changed throughout the story. It definitely teaches that we can have too much of a good thing... and that learning should continue outside of school hours!

Great Book that Puts School in Perspective
This is a fine, fine book that gently reminds us that while school is important, we need to live a balanced life that includes time for personal pursuits. The principal in this school decides that school is so important that he has students going to school on Saturdays, on Sundays, on holidays, and in the summer. A girl helps him see the error of his ways. The illustrations beautifully complement the text.

my students and our assistant principal (who read the story to my class) loved the book
Both myself, my students and our assistant principal (who read the story to my class) loved the book. My A.P. is actually new to the school, so all of my students signed their names with messages on the inside cover and gave her the book as a gift. We actually made her cry and she said it really touched her heart!
