Small, but Works Well
Well, what to say about a grater? It is small, easy to use, sharp, and has multiple rows of directional teeth to get your ingredients down to a small size. It works like a champ for garlic and ginger. I have not used it on root vegetables so I cannot comment on that. I desperately hope it would make them taste better - but I don't expect miracles.I wouldn't call this a grater though. It is more of a pulverizer. That fresh garlic and ginger does get knocked down quickly, but it is more of a mush. Depending on your need, this may not be suitable at times. It appears to be made on one, solid plate of stainless steel and is safe for your dishwasher. This is a unique design as there are no holes in the back.Tested April 2015. Product supplied by ECALOO for an unbiased review. At this time, there is no price-point.

Small, great for getting some garlic or onion juice and very, very small, almost pureed ingredients
Free product provided for evaluation and review. This is a very small tool. It's good for getting very small, really rather pureed pieces of garlic, onion, ginger, or for very fine gratings of nutmet. The teeth are tiny and there's no opening on the back - it abrades your ingredient. It's great for getting onion and garlic juice along with very pureed small pieces. I find this helpful since I have a family member that loves the taste of onions, but freaks if he actually sees on in his food.It also works on horseradish. Be careful when using it with horseradish not to inhale too deeply or you'll feel it! I don't find it dangerous, because the teeth are simply too shallow. If I were to run a finger across it, I'd only end up with a top layer slough; I doubt these teeth are deep enough to draw blood. I think of it more like super coarse sandpaper. It doesn't really grate, IMO, as much as it pricks then abrades.I find it easy to wash, but the trick is to wash it with a kitchen sprayer right after it is used.I like that it has a little loop on it - I have a hook hung right inside my spice cabinet and that is where I keep it.I do find that if I need a larger amount of truly minced garlic or other ingredient, it is can take quite a while and it is best just to use a kitchen knife and cut it up. We tend to use more spices than a lot of people though. It is useful, it's just not the complete answer for me for mincing. It is great for grating nutmeg.

Decent grater, would be better with longer handle. Build quality just OK but serviceable
I was provided a sample of this in exchange for an honest review. This little grater is just fine. It does work well for grating ginger and garlic into small bits, and probably would be good for grating chocolate. It has a little handle that protrudes just an inch-- I'm taking a star off as it would be much easier to use if the handle were longer. Build quality seems OK though on the unit I received I could see some pieces of metal hanging on from where it was die cut from a mold. Barely noticeable, but there. But at the current price ($5.99) this little grater is a decent value.... just don't look for it to be coming to your local Williams Sonoma or Sur La Table.Overall, a nice little grater that I'll give 3 stars.

good except the price
The media could not be loaded. This is a nice little gadget that can offer convenience while grating garlic, vegetables and fruits. It has full steel construction with a smooth nicely curved back and a roughened front which you use to grate the vegetable. The steel is pretty solid which does not get bent by applying pressure. The biggest problem with full metal gadgets are that most of them could damage the kitchen surfaces. However, the smooth slightly curved design of this item prevents scratching the countertop yet I recommend using it on a dish. The tiny spikes are effective grating cooked and raw garlic (as you can see in my video) but they don't pose a significant threat to your fingers even if you accidentally rub your hand. The main functionality for this item would be garlic and ginger, but you can also use it effectively to grate the skin of lemon or orange which are often used as flavor in cake recipes. Alternatively, it can help mushing infant food during the few months the baby starts solids (but for older kids due to its limited capacity it would not be very efficient.)Cleaning is easy ( I did both with hand and dishwasher). Finally, at the time I wrote this review (april 2015) this item was offered only by a third party sellers and for ($5.99+$3.99 shipping) which is ridiculously expensive for a basic item like this. Therefore I dock one star from my rating. I think a fair price should not be higher than $4-5 including shipping.Note: A free sample was provided for review
