Fancy Nancy: Nancy Clancy's Ultimate Chapter Book Quartet: Books 1 through 4

My 8yr old granddaughter LOVES fancy Nancy books and these are great the words aren't too hard either

My daughter (5 1/2) loves reading these books at night (we read to her, mostly). However, in one of the books, Nancy and her friend get into an older boys' car when they get caught out riding their bikes in the rain. Yes, he is an acquaintance of theirs and a friendly guy, but c'mon! My daughter did not need to read that this was something it was fine for a little girl to do! You can see this as a teachable moment, but it caught me off-guard that this scene was even written into the book. The first thing this older boy says after the girls climb right into his car is "You haven't introduced me to your friend." I had to talk to my daughter for 30 minutes about the dangers of getting into anyone else's car without asking a parent's permission, and it kind of made her nervous and ruined her enjoyment of the book for that night. She really looks up to Nancy, and I was disappointed in that part of the book.

Very cute series. My daughter loved the picture books Fancy Nancy so when she started reading chapter books n her own these books were instinct favorites.

I loved that the chapters aren't too long usually consist of 4 to 5 pages. My daughter is going to first grade and loves fancy Nancy so I got her these books she reads a chapter every morning and before bed, some of the pages consist photos & she likes that set comes with 4 books and on the top of each book has a number to tell you which order yo read them in

I purchased his for a birthday present for my 8 year old grand niece. She reads very well. She also has an older sister who is 11. I thought it would be fun to read aloud to each other or as a bedtime story, since they are chapter books. She squealed with delight when she opened them. Summer time is a great time to curl up with a good book on a hot lazy day. She is getting much enjoyment out of them. Thank you for having the pack of books available and at a great price. I didn't have to run out to a local book store but could buy them from the comfort of my air conditioned home this summer.

My 8 year old was aging out of Fancy Nancy illustrated books. I found these and bought her for Christmas. She loves them. I love Fancy Nancy books because they always use "fancy" words and then define them, growing my daughter's vocabulary. Now my daughter reads to me the chapter books and we learn the new words together and work on her reading skills. I also love how the author has little nods in the stories to the picture book plots. My daughter always picks up on them.

I bought these hoping my advanced 1st grader could read them. They were just a little too hard for her yet (something to strive for) but she is enjoying having them read to her.

My niece was delighted to receive these books as a gift. She loved the Fancy Nancy picture books and this is a great way to transition into reading chapter books. The chapters are short enough to hold her attention at this phase in her reading development, and the stories are quite entertaining. It's kind of nice that she can "grow" with Nancy and her pals. :)
