Vibram Men's V-Trek Minimalist Hiking Shoe

Sizing, I did follow the sizing recommendation and got one size larger and I am glad I did as the ones I purchased fit perfectly. I usually wear EU42/US Women's 11 and the EU43 fit me perfectly.Oh man, I thought these were silly for soooo long...and I still do... But I love walking barefoot and found the modern aqua-socks, but they were not durable enough for how much I walk, so I bit the bullet and purchased these... and I love these Vibram V-Treks!!I added a set of Zoobits magnetic closures, so they are really easy to put on and take off -- I think it is enough to try to get my toes in the toes that it is nice to not deal with the laces.Onroad/Sidewalks 3.5 stars:These are my go to shoes if I am going further than around the corner, especially when it is wet out (PDX is always wet this time of year =oP) and I like them better than most other shoes... but my feet begin to hurt if I walk too long on hard surfaces. I can jog to keep up with the dogs and I've walked a few miles.Now it may be a lot of my fault as I am working on changing my foot/floor contact, but I feel this might have something to do with the off-road-worthiness of these shoes.Onroad Conclusion, if you are ALWAYS going to be on pavement, try a different tread pattern, these might not be for you.Offroad 6 starsI purchased these because I love to jump off the traveled path. I wanted hiking shoes that I can pack and take camping and walk through everything and that is exactly what these are.The previously mentioned pain? The moment I jump off the sidewalk and into grass, these shoes become super comfortable. Gravel and rocky roads won't even slow you down.I thought the toes were silly, but now I crave that satisfying feel of my big toe digging in on the push off.Excellent grip off road wet or dry, rocks, dirt, etc.Infact, these are so awesome off road, I find it funny that I will walk in the grass beside the sidewalk while my two small dogs stick to the pavement =oDI feel I can take these everywhere my dogs go and they disappear. The sole is excellent, I cannot believe I wasted time with aqua socks (though I do tend to still use them for the very short walks, the toes do add some time that I just don't want to waste with a potty training puppy!)These are my new hiking boots. Small and light, I can imagine me packing these in ways I never would have with my full size, high top, hiking boots.If I knew I was going to spend the whole walk on pavement, I wouldn't use these, though I am tempted to buy a road-specific version. But if I might step in grass or cross gravel, these are my go-to shoe!

I'm a 76 year old woman and have been wearing Vibrams for a few months to help with my moderate bunions. I find that men's 41s fit a little better than women's 42s. A little wider in the toe box and easier to get on to my crooked toes. I wear the Vibrams because they hold toes in about the correct place and allow me to use my feet better.I was surprised that thin, flexible soles did NOT make walking or standing less comfortable (even on cement), and feeling every pebble was not a problem. It's like walking barefoot with strong calluses already built up on the soles of your feet. Lack of arch support allows you to use your feet and build your own arch support.I expected this pair to be insulated all around to keep your feet warm in the snow. Not the case. Same thin material in upper. However the soles are thicker and insulated - which gives an unexpected tiny bounce and cushion to each step, while still giving the same feel and flexibility. I like that a lot.I don't like the laces. Too thick and don't slide well through the keepers. I'll be changing them.

I’m about a year into my planter fasciitis/tarsal tunnel recovery.My foot is 24.5 cm/ 9.6 inches long X 11.5cm/4.5 inches wide. I ordered what I thought was a size 40 But it was actually a size 41 And it is too big but I’m going to keep them so I can wear Wool toe socks in the early mornings and order a 40 in a different color for hiking. I also thought I was ordering the women’s version, but it was the man’s version and maybe that is why it fits so much better than other versions that I’ve tried on in the past that were women’s. I seriously just noticed this after I’ve been wearing them 24 seven for days. This is my second pair of five finger brand shoes.Even wearing them without socks I’ve had no chaffing. The ankle material does not aggravate my ankle at all. And even though they’re big for me, my feet still look cute. I’m really happy with the army green color And they are just so comfortable even though they’re a little big. I’m pretty excited to get the other color in a 40.

Love these shoes! The fit is great and all my toes go into the individual toe pockets. These are very comfortable. You will need to get used to how your toes will feel once you start wearing them more; just massage and wear them intermittently so that you don’t experience too much discomfort. Also include some advice/ directions on how to wear them starting out.

Ive been wearing vibram 5 finger toe shoes for the last 15 years every time I go hiking and these are by far the best pair Ive purchased. Very comfortable and versatile to all kinds of terrain. Be careful walking on cement or hard surfaces until your feel get accoustumed to these kinds of shoes though. It’s takes a few hikes for your foot muscles and tendons to adjust. Not to worry though, our ancestors walked barefoot for many millennia before us, your foot will adjust. A word about the fit: vibrams always feel too small when you first put them on, just a slight bit snug, this is normal. As you walk in them they conform to the unique shape of our individual feet after a couple hikes. If you want to speed up this process, after you put them on get them wet for your hike. I like how these ones look, first time ive used laces and I have no complaints, just dont over tighten them. So far Ive gone on 2- 5 mile hikes and they are doing great!
