Good product. Not water soluble. Taste is not great but manageable.

Pure L-Histidine. I put a little scoop in yogurt to hide the flavor.

Nov 2021: I’ve been taking this about 4-5 days a week. It has made a dramatic difference in my hand eczema, I had been struggling with this issue for over 2 years. I was using a cream steroid which worked but if I didn’t use it multiple times a day, my hands would still blister and crack open. Now with this product I do still have occasional outbreaks, but in general my skin is very healthy. My only complaint is that 1/5 tsp is an odd measurement, and I wish I could find this product in pill form. UPDATE May 2022: I’ve been using this product for about a year and take it 1-3 times a week and it’s continued to stop my eczema for reoccurring. Now if I don’t take it for a week or two, I start to get dry hands, which goes away the next day if I take a serving. This product has improved my skins overall health and I’ve not had an eczema breakout since I started taking it. Now I only take 1/8th tsp, so it lasts me a really long time.

It took a few days for me to receive this. I read up on dermatology journals and this is recommended for people with skin barrier issues related to filaggrin deficiency. This product dissolves easily abs doesn’t have much of a taste. It’s more like very slightly salty. I haven’t had any problems.I am hoping it helps my extreme eczema issues.I think it is, but I need more time to make that determination.

I have tried both HCL and Base form of Histidine, and in my opinion you get the best result when you take a little bit of both. For Histidine Base, I prefer Ajipure, but for HCL, Bulk Supplements is perfect.All that being said, if I were to chose only one, I would likely go with HCL. The HCL form seems to work more consistently and it feels more fast acting. I believe you need much more HCL in order to reach the same potential effect that the Base form seems to provide, but to me, the Base form's time it takes to go to work is inconsistent.Also, Base powder really messes with my GI tract, from beginning to 'end', if you know what i mean.

I purchased this thinking it was pure Histidine amino acid, but now have learnt (by stumbling across someone else's review) that it is actually Histidine mixed with HCL - so FYI in case you didn't know! I docked one star off the product for this not really being clear. I'd like to know how much histidine I'm getting when I take the recommended dosage (like how much ratio of HCL to histidine per 1/4tsp)?I was taking 1/4tsp here and there everyday and not really noticing any effect, and I think it's due to the mixture. Today I tried taking at least 1000mg before going for dinner and experienced MUCH less bloating than normal - I even ate cream pasta, so I think this mixture might be excellent for those lacking in stomach acid.I went ahead and ordered the pure Histidine powder (also offered by Bulk Supplements) in order to do a comparison.

More people need to know about Histidine! It worked very well for what I needed it for and now it's part of my family's nutrition plan!

I bought this for my son to help with his eczema. His dermatologist suggested this based on recent studies of this particular amino being deficient in patients suffering from eczema. It is supposed to help build up the skin barrier. Too soon to tell if it's helping. My son is a teenager and isn't always compliant with taking it plus he doesn't like the taste. It's salty and it doesn't really mix well with any flavor. I tried it also and can confirm it's a tough taste.There are L Histidine capsules but the dosage isn't enough for what is required for the treatment of eczema.
