Bob's Red Mill Sweet Cream Buttermilk Milk Powder, 22 Oz

This is a great substitute for liquid buttermilk. I add the dried powder to my scone mix every morning at work. Very easy to mix in. I do 2tbsp per 1/2 cup buttermilk, then use a 1/2 cup water. The texture is the same as if I used regular buttermilk and the taste is great.

You pay for the quality though.It is a higher end product, but I know that I’m getting a product that will not have any hidden ingredients.I am lactose intolerant and I find I can tolerate powdered milk products in my preparations, like buttermilk biscuits, or pancakes etc. and because they make only fewer lactose free product to date, buttermilk not being one.Also, I don’t use buttermilk on a daily basis, and it’s a waste to buy a carton of it each time to use a cup or so of it, and throw the rest unused, or have to freeze it (and lose part of its good qualities).BRM powdered buttermilk solved the issue.

I don't need buttermilk very often & buying even the smallest container I wouldn't use all of it & had to throw it out. This buttermilk powder sits in my refrigerator & I can make as much as I need at the moment. It makes my recipes taste just the way they're supposed to.

I've been using buttermilk powder for 40 years.I keep it in the refrigerator and it is always available when I need buttermilk for baking.

I use BRMSCBP primarily for baking, but I am thinking about trying it in a marinade for chicken. It is fresh-tasting, not loaded with extra salt like a lot of other brands, and it adds a welcome extra tang to pancakes and cornbread.

I always keep powdered buttermilk on had to cook with. This is the best brand. I buy a lot from Bob's Red Mill as they are dependable and great quality.
