Stands out from other pads, with cushion and fitment
They are very soft, and due to the comfort compared to the original earpads, it makes my audio feel and sound better. I had purchased some cooling earpads, however, they tended to slide around my head, and made a plastic bag sound when moving my head, due to the fabric materials. This is the best one of the best purchases I've ever made. After a year they are holding up well. The original pads also leave paint chips that peel off over long time use, in which they get in your hair and on your floor. These fix that issue.

Fit Perfectly, and Don't Alter the Sound!
I have a pair of Audio Technica M50XBT2 headphones which I love because they give great sound for mastering my mixes. Recently, my ear pads started falling apart. I did my research and found that, not only did I need to worry about which ear pads would fit... I also had to take into consideration... They might change the sound. I didn't want to buy the same kind that came with them... Because they wouldn't last, obviously. My research led me to these... And they are perfect. So comfortable... And the hybrid design should make them last for a long time. But, most importantly, they sound perfect! Thanks Brainwavz!

Quality replacement, better than the original!
About two years ago, I replaced the original pads on my headphones with the "hybrid" version of these. They were an excellent replacement, quite an upgrade in comfort and no noticeable effect on the Audio-Technica sound profile. Unfortunately, I live in a very humid area, and the faux leather coverings on the sides began to peel off in about two years due to sweat and moisture, which was the same thing that had happened with the factory originals. For that reason, I would give the hybrid versions 3.5 stars for lack of longevity. This microsuede version, however, appears to be just what I've been looking for. The fabric feels very luxurious, and I actually said "Wow!" out loud the first time I tried them on. The way they sit on the ear is also quite comfortable, much more than the original factory pads. I've only had these for about a week, so I can't say much about longevity just yet, but I have high hopes because microsuede has moisture-repellant properties. Initial build quality is fantastic, though. Any pair of ATH-M50 headphones will look, sound and feel fantastic with these pads on.

High-quality upgrade with improved comfort—just note the fit if you have larger ears.
These Brainwavz ProStock perforated earpads are a great comfort and style upgrade for the ATH-M50X. The materials feel premium and well-crafted, with noticeably better breathability compared to the stock pads. The installation was straightforward, and they fit the M50X securely without any sag or shifting. Once in place, they do improve comfort, especially for longer listening sessions. The perforated surface helps with airflow, and the foam provides a softer feel. However, one thing to be aware of: if you have larger ears, these pads may end up sitting on-ear rather than fully over-ear, which can affect long-term wearability and noise isolation. Overall, it's a solid upgrade in both form and function—just make sure the dimensions work for your ears. If they do, you’ll likely be very happy with the results.

Definitely an upgrade to the stock Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT2 Headphones
Mostly everything I read about the ATH-MX50x style headphones before purchasing them mentioned the ear pads were not very comfortable, especially for eyeglass wearers. After receiving the headphones, I must agree. They stock ear pads aren't really awful, but they certainly weren't great. I switched to my other, thinner and flatter glasses and that did help, but overall, I wasn't real happy with the comfort factor. Other than the ear pads, I really love the headphones. So I decided to research replacement, "after market" ear pads. Turns out there's a bunch of them! It also turns out that many, if not most, will change the audio characteristics of the headphones. I purchased these headphones for the audio characteristics, so I didn't really want to change it much. This pair of replacement ear pads seemed to be the best overall for increasing the comfort factor, without altering the actual sound. I listened to a song with the original ear pads, then after some initial fumbling around installing the replacements, I listened to the same song at the same volume level. I could not discern any difference in the sound. However, to be clear, my 63 year old ears have endured many years of loud music, so take my conclusion with a grain of salt. As I mentioned, I fumbled around a bit fitting the new ear pads to the headphones, but it's really not difficult after you play with it a minute or two. The ProStock Hybrid fits like they were made for the M50x headphones, and they were! The fit perfectly and I am enjoying the soft, fuzzy part that touches the head. I can now wear any of my glasses without any discomfort. When putting them on my head for the first time, I immediately could tell a big difference in the comfort level. It really is a considerable difference, especially factoring in the eyeglasses. Everything in life is a compromise. The Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT2 Wireless Over-Ear Headphones were a compromise... they aren't the best studio headphones nor the best casual listening headphones, but they might very well be the best at doing both very well. These replacement ear pads may not be the thickest, most luxurious and comfortable ear pads, but they make a vast improvement over the stock ear pads without altering the sound much, if at all. Now I feel like I have the perfect set of headphones! The only negative with these earpads is they are probably about $5 too expensive, but I'm thinking it's worth it.

This is a review of the Brainwavz Perforated earpads just in case it gets attached to anything else. I’ve had my AT M50x headphones for over four years and the earpads were disintegrating. I ordered these and was concerned about a nasty change in sound. My fears were unfounded. Changing the earpads was a little fiddly but took less than 10 minutes. I looked at the old ones and could see they were seriously worn with the old foam broken from the inside. The new pads were instantly more comfortable and they seem to have opened up the sound a little with a wider stereo soundstage. I think this is because they hold the actual noisy part of the headphone a little further from the ear. The sound also seems a little less harsh. Bowie’s Heroes album (always a real treble fest) seems to have less reverb now as though the sound is less closed in. Maybe this is the perforations in the foam making these more on ear sounding than over ear?? Whatever, I am very happy with these.

Used them on my AKG K371-BT. They are much more comfortable than stock ear pads and make the sound a bit more thick for my taste. Definitely worth trying!

Though very expensive, they enhanced my audiotechicas sr50s. The highs are very little less sparkly and harsh and the bass does not blear in to the mids as much as it did which was why I went for swede instead of leather earcups. They are miles more comfortable and don't get hot at all which was not the case before. On first impression, don't be put off by the shallowness of the earcups as the memory foam is high quality. It does help being shallow if you find the clamping force tight. Also has angled parts to help comfort. Also good on mx50s but I'm as much of a fan of those headphones.

100% Perfect for Audio-Technica ATH-M40x flaking FIX with BETTER bass and sound quality! I'm actually shocked that they do what they say they do as I thought it was just some BS marketing claim that they don't change the sound quality. I'm super happy I went with BRAINWAVZ PRO STOCK (PU) as they are way better for sound and comfort compared to the original Audio-Technica earpads, I read lots of reviews on many sites and these were the only ones that stood out as a worthwhile buy. $34 AUD isn't expensive but also not cheap but you get what you pay for... so totally worth it just for the no drop in sound quality as I've read happens with most other earpads reviews. Easy to put on, comfortable and didn't notice any drop in noise cancelling or sound quality; I actually feel the bass is better with them than with the original Audio-Technica earpads. HEADBAND FIX: To stop the flaking problem on the headband on Audio-Technica's I used black electrical tape from the hardware store (Deta PVC electrical insulation tape) as its less sticky than duct tape so if I need to remove it, it won't be an ordeal and that will stop the flaking issue. I then used Automotive stereo/wiring loom harness cloth tape (Tesa) over the top of the PVC electrical tape for comfort and to add grip (incase the protector moves etc). Then used/purchased a protector by DEFEAN - "Headphone Protector Headband Fabric for Audio Technica M30 M40 M50 M50X M50S M40X Headphone" $13.99 AUD (BLACK) Great product Brainwavz : ) Thank you for saving my M40x's from flaking all over me! NOTE: I did take out the thin piece of foam from the original Audio-Technica's and put it in to the Defean ones as I read a review that someone found it helped the audio quality a lot. The Defean Pro Stock (PU) earpads don't come with a piece of foam. Some people will find that the piece of foam in their original Audio-Technica has worn out and can't be put into the Defean ones (as I've read in reviews) I'm unsure how to solve this if you find this is your situation. Hope this helps : )
