Organic Chemistry, 6th Edition

for a book of this age, the product was in amazing condition, no flaws

I see here a very nice way to save trees from being destroyed since the book I received is in a very good condition. If everybody takes good care, sells and purchases books using this method, our planet shall live for several thousands of years more.

... except that the first or second edition was newest when I took the class.The school had some rule that my high school AP chem credits wouldn't count unless I took another class that had them as pre-reqs. Organic didn't really support my major, but it looked like fun and counted toward a distribution requirement. ('Fun'. Everyone thought I was nuts.)Which meant I was one of two (I think) freshmen in a class of a few hundred sweating pre-meds. I didn't need the lab section and didn't take it, so I was just there to get the big ideas, not to save my med school plans. Sure enough, I never really used the knowledge. (I did have fun helping some sophomores with their homework, though.)Never used it until about 30 years later, when I was working around the edges of computational chemistry, bioinformatics, and MRI imaging. I raised this knowledge from the grave next to my high school Spanish and it gave me a big head start in understanding what the problems and even the vocabulary were.-- wiredweird

A fine textbook in its own right, Morrison's OChem textbook places great emphasis on chemical analysis and experimental evidence to prove the basic organic chemistry theories. Because these are often missing in other textbooks, the book is a great supplement to more modern textbooks. I do not suggest using only this book for beginning OChem students, as the text is rather dense, pictures somewhat sparse, and the graphics and images themselves rather crude (more mainstream textbooks offer some great computer graphics to illustrate reaction mechanisms, electrostatic potential maps, etc). Again, beginning OChem students should purchase "more modern" college class texts (Vollhardt and Schore's OChem, Wade's OChem, etc.) and can consider purchasing this book to supplement their ochem learning. =]

This is school text book, but it has served my purpose perfectly. I would recomend it to all of those who are taking this class and who are debating whether to buy the 6th edition or the 5th edition.

I have used this text in teaching the subject matter; after having been exposed to it as a student. I know of no other text in organic chemistry that is as rich in detail.

I received the book in good condition. It is lightly used. I bought it for my cousin in South America. You cannot beat the price. I'm happy the book will have the opportunity to teach another person. Good buy!!

It is easy to understand and best book for pharmacy students for grades...

Old second hand book supplied. But I was in urgent need, so kept it.
