ABOUT: Baltic Amber naturally contains succinic acid, a mild pain reliever and anti-inflammatory that helps with teething and other pain. Each necklace is Safety knotted with a screw clasp. They are 12.5 in long on average, sized to fit babies and toddlers, with length variations due to organic bead shapes and tension in the hand-tied knots. The beads are baroque shaped, measuring 0.2 inches in diameter on average. MISSION: We give half of our proceeds to charity. Our raw amber comes from Kaliningrad on the Baltic Sea, home to many orphaned children whose adult lives are often scared by sex-trafficking, drug addiction and alcoholism. We give 50% of our profit to care for their basic needs, in partnership with the Change30 project. LAB TESTING: To certify authenticity and succinic acid content, our Amber Beads are randomly sampled, ground and tested via FTIR Spectroscopy at Lab/Cor Laboratories in Seattle, WA. USE: For best results wear against the skin as a necklace. The succinic acid in the amber is absorbed through the skin to help with teething pain, but the necklace is not intended to be mouthed or chewed on. WARNING:NOT A TOY! Choking and Strangulation hazard. Necklaces contain small beads and string, which can cause injury and even death. Do not wear while sleeping. Do not wear while unattended. Do not use to treat medical conditions. Consult your doctor before use.

Great concept but no luck
I really want to love this product. The idea of natural pain relief is great and it's so wonderful that this company donates part of their profit. The necklace is cute but it just isn't helping my baby at all. I'm disappointed it didn't work!**I'm editing this to add that the company immediately refunded my money, explaining that they believe in their product but it doesn't work for everyone. Wow, great customer service and you have nothing to lose by trying it! So, even though it didn't work for us I'd still recommend the necklace for others to try.

Love it
I was kind if skeptical of Amber necklaces actually working, but after seeing so many people claim they help, I decided to give it a try. I chose this one because it's raw, unpolished, and lab tested and I figured with these features it had the best chances of being effective. I bought this for my 4 month old daughter who has started to drool quite a bit and can get pretty cranky in the evenings. After only a day of wearing this necklace, we noticed a big difference with her drooling and haven't had to put a bib on her. Also, she got her 4 month shots after wearing the necklace and she was no where near as fussy as the last time she got shots. I really liked the fact that the company writes the date the stones were tested as well as the level results on the packaging. Overall, I'm happy I made this purchase and would recommend to anyone considering buying an Amber teething necklace.

worth a try, but no luck.
my husband and i were the first in our "group" to have kids, and i never tried anything like this for my son. we just figured he could tough it out through teething, and he did. since then, quite a few of our friends have become parents, and they all seem to have these for their kids. so with our daughter, we decided to give it a try. she's generally a pretty happy baby, although she definitely has fussy moments. the drooling has recently kicked up a notch too, so i decided it was time to order one.when the box arrived, the packaging was really cute. i'm a sucker for good branding, and this company has done a nice job. i was a little bit disappointed because i had read a review on here where the customer received a "new" style of the necklace without tapered beads and darker cord. i couldn't tell from the photo if they had updated it because it looks like the beads are a consistent size in the main photo. i went to the company website to find out if there was any information, but didn't see anything. so i decided to order anyway and hoped for the "new" style with larger beads and dark cord. the one i received has the tapered style beads with the light cord though. so i would say, expect that style, not the "new" style if you order one. it's hard to tell in the photo, but most of the beads are quite small.when the necklace arrived, i put it to the ultimate test... a three hour car ride. it didn't seem to make a difference because my daughter still cried for most of the drive. over the next few days, i didn't really see a difference in her drool or fussiness with the necklace compared to before. i'm not sure if the bead size has something to do with it, or if it just isn't going to work for us. i don't regret giving it a try though... if nothing else, i have satisfied my curiosity about these necklaces. :]

Totally Authentic and Works Perfectly
As a two-time purchaser, I can vouch that this is an absolute winner.WHY I CHOSE THIS ONE: My daughter began drooling and sucking on things at 4 months, and after careful research I learned that Amber teething necklaces were a great natural remedy for tooth pain. I read that the lighter the color, the more "potent" the succinc acid (which the beads produce when your baby's body warms them). I also read that the rawer the beads, the more effective the necklaces would be. That's why I opted for this necklace.WHY I BOUGHT A SECOND ONE: My baby wore this everyday between age 4-6months, sometimes even in the bath! It held up great with no signs of wear. With her necklace, she never got a teething fever, and her drooling stopped. She stopped wearing it for a month or two when I realized the teeth weren't coming. During that period of time of not wearing it, I found the clasp broken for an unknown reason. Since I don't know the reason, I can't blame the necklace. I wanted to repurchase this now that she is teething again at age 9months, because I knew she found it comforting.I TESTED THE AUTHENTICITY: Before repurchasing this necklace, I decided to test the necklace's authenticity. I hadn't wanted to do it on the necklace she wore daily for fear I would wreck it (some tests involve flames and others involve acetone). I did the most harmless test I found, whereby you rub the necklace vigorously with a cloth (I used a teeshirt) and then touch it to little bits of shredded paper. True amber stones get electrostatically charged and the paper will cling to the necklace (not as strongly as a magnet would, but there will still be some kind of distinct clinging effect). It totally worked. The little pieces of paper stuck to the necklace when I touched it to them. The necklace is 100% authentic.SAFETY FEATURES: I love how safe this necklace is. It has a auto-break clasp, so that if the baby's necklace gets caught on something, the clasp will break off and not strangle the baby. Yes, your necklace will be broken, but your baby's life will be saved. Also, each bead is individually knotted, so if for some unlikely reason the necklace string were to break, only one bead would be off the string (as opposed to beads flying everywhere for baby to find and chew). Lastly, and MOST importantly to me, the beads are very small. SO if for some terrible reason baby actually got one of the beads in his mouth, it would not block his airways. Obviously you don't ever want your baby to eat one of these beads, but it is comforting to know they could not suffocate baby if something bad happened to the necklace.THE SIZING: The two necklaces I bought were different sizes (since natural products often are). The first necklace was shorter and the beads were smaller, which I liked better. However, my second necklace is not too long and the beads aren't too big to be safe. My baby was able to get both necklaces in her mouth, if she really tried, but they couldn't slip over her head. The first necklace *just* made it past her chin and into her mouth if she tried, but the second one easily can fit. This could be a problem for you if your baby has many teeth already and you don't want him to chew on stones. In my pictures, you can see the unclasped necklace is the first one I received, and the clasped necklace is the second. (Another difference between the two--the first necklace had clearer beads, whereas her current necklace is much more opaque).HAPPY BABY: My baby has been happier ever since I got her a second necklace to begin wearing daily. I have noticed she is less uncomfortable and fussy when she is wearing it. Though she still gnaws away at things around her, she has not gotten any teething fevers. I am very satisfied with this purchase, and I highly recommend it!
