A demonic-looking hot head but he's cool and Hell-of-a-beauty in my collection!
Who’s this hot head? A brother of the Ghost Rider or a cousin of the Dread Dommamu – a longtime nemesis of Dr. Strange. The figure is 6 inches tall and is in the Build-a-Sugarman X-Men Legends series. This hot head is so cool! My heart was burning with a desire to add him to my collection even if I didn’t know anything about him. I learned from the Internet that this is a Sunfire from an alternate Earth or something like that. X-Men fans will be familiar with the Japanese mutant called Sunfire who first appeared in the 1970s dressed in a costume that is inspired by the rising sun battle flag of war-time Japan. This first appearance Sunfire wears an evil-looking mask and looks more like a villain but he is a friend and not a foe of the X-Men and was once an X-Man. The figure is molded in translucent plastic. This might appeal to collectors who like translucent figures. Those who like figures with heads ‘on fire’ may find him Hell-of-a-cool. The figure doesn’t stand up well – may require a peg to keep him on his feet. Translucent Hot Head is the latest action figure of Sunfire-san. The first, to the best of my knowledge, was made by Toy Biz in the 1990s - it’s probably the unmasked figure with the samurai pony-tail which stands at 5 inches. If this isn’t the very first Sunfire, then it’s the 5-inch figure in the rising sun costume which was released in an X-Men boxed set having Storm, Thunderbird, the Banshee and Colossus. Now for the photos - Photo 1 shows the translucent Sunfire held up close towards a light source. Photo 2 shows him together with the 6-inch Hasbro Sunfire figure released about 2 years ago in the Build-a-Juggernaut series. Photo 3 is for size comparison – it shows our new Hot Head in the company of the Toy Biz Sunfire without mask (and in a different costume) and the Toy Biz Sunfire in the original rising sun costume from an X-Men boxed set

Sunfire worth it
Don't know much about Sunfire beyond the AOA recaps and owning the 1st costumed figure, however , I 1st saw this figure I was blown away by the design and I pre-ordered it. This sunfire did not disappoint. It looks great and has really good articulation thanks to the body mold (?) used (same as previous Sunfire, similar to 2020 FF Johnny Storm, 80th Anniv, Deadpool, BullsEye, etc).Aesthetically they did an amazing job w. the design, while also keeping the internal parts of the figure out of sight or fairly blended in. I will say the figure has a different feel almost softer than those aforemented figures w. the same molds , perhaps it has to do with the translucent plastic used. The softness is not a bad thing per se, just different. But yeah overall great figure , recommend for anyone who wants a dope figure or is hesitant to get this wave. Final note: the flame effect piece around the neck and collar is glued down so not meant for removal (though not impossible either).

Fire Shining Bright
AOA may not be one of the nostalgic series xmen fans would clamor for but there are some hidden gems throughout this storyline and this is also true for the Marvel Legends series. Sunfire mama as a standalone figure this is a must-have for X-Men fans, customizers, and kitbashers. Aesthetically, due to its translucency, the figure glows bright when it stands in front of a light source. For customizers, the Sunfire buck is the perfect plastic that fits the spectrum of a gamut of Marvel characters. The articulation is superb and the paint apps are satisfactory. Overall, this is one of the best figures in the AOA series.

Good Figure Good Buy
It was one of those purchases in order to complete the build-a-figure. However Sunfire turns out to be better then the actual complete b-a-f
