For people complaining about only one lid coming with ten pans-the pans are meant to be stacked and screw together when not in use. The one lid is meant to cap the topmost pan after stacking. Pan pastels are hands down my favorite medium to paint my polymer clay sculptures. The pigment applies easily, you can layer the colors for effect and intensity, and they give my sculpts a soft, natural look that I just can't get with liquid paints. Brush them on unbaked clay and the pigment will bond to the clay. You can use a varnish after baking for a gorgeous glassy finish. The value of this set is incredible. Singles of these colors are at least twice the price of bought separately. Also, mine arrived in perfect condition BUT did have minimal packaging.

The Pastels are amazing! Bright vivid colors and smooth. Packing absolutely is terrible. These are very fragile and need to be sent in something better than a single bubble mailer.

I have never used these in my pet portraits but i have been watching lately that more and more artists are combining pan pastels with color pencils. I want to try this for myself. The finished portraits are beautiful.

My daughter loves the pastels. She feels she won't be using a blue and the purple for pet portraits but all other colors are great for her purposes.

Lots of money when consider one was all crumbled and no lids for 9 of the containers, how inconvenient when trying to find colors. Wouldn’t buy again.

Absolutely love the pan pastels. No dust to speak of and very smooth application. Fun to work with!! Love the colors too.
