An educational response for future readers, especially vegans: Lanolin Oil - This is one of the very few animal related products that are actually commonly used among the vegan community. Why? Now that we have domestic sheep, it is not ideal to harm them to get rid of the many species that we have. Sheep absolutely NEED to be sheared for their health. Their wool just keeps growing and they do not shed. If their wool gets too long and fluffy, it weighs them down a lot, they cannot see, they overheat, it mats and makes it difficult for them to wag their tails or walk or turn their heads, and the hair will become matted on their rear end. When the wool on their rear end gets too matted, it becomes filled with feces and they cannot continue to have bowel movements. It forces them to become constipated and can cause bowel blockages, among other unhygienic issues. Beeswax - This is another one of the very few animal related products that are used in the vegan community. Why? Bees are the #1 pollinator in the world. They serve other purposes, but without bees, the entire world would run into a food shortage and many, many species of plants and animals (including us humans) would die out. It would be a long and painful process for everyone and everything involved. Bees farms have to have profit to be able to sustain their bee populations. It is easiest on the farmers and makes the most sense to get the profit from the bees they are farming, and beeswax can be farmed 100% bee friendly. It is possible to farm the wax so that only minimal amounts are taken from the bees at a time, and it's possible to farm it without harming a single bee in the colony. The more we support eco-friendly bee farming, the more we help their population escape extinction.

Do the Matte colors contain Mica? Or just the sparkly ones?

Yes each shade contains at least some percentage of mica.

Titanium dioxide causes fertility issues, cancer etc...it may be in your eyeliner....why?

None of the ingredients we use are nano-sized. Everything we use is at least above 200 nanometers, if that is one of your concerns. Regarding Titanium Dioxide, (TiO2) it does not penetrate through healthy skin and poses no local or systemic risk to human health from skin exposure. Most concerns arise when TiO2 is inhalable or respirable. In order for TiO2 to be inhaled, particles must be small enough to reach the alveoli (where oxygen exchange happens) of the lungs. Existing studies have suggested TiO2 nanoparticles may be more toxic than traditional larger particles of TiO2. TiO2 is described as fine if it is 100-3,000 nanometers, and ultrafine if it is smaller than 100 nm. Findings show that commercial pigments contain almost no particles smaller than 100 nm. Studies have shown that purposeful inhalation exposure of TiO2 particles in cosmetics are predominately inhaled as clusters and do not reach the alveoli (the part of the lungs where oxygen is exchanged).

Non smudge stay in place soft and easy to use.

Awesome eyeliner...for me it glides on effortlessky and not overpowering thick like many eyeliner pencils Ive tried..Ive tried gels..pencils....crayons.Bt far this one is the best so far...Does not smudge...stays in place all day....and washes off easily...I am 63 yrs old and have sensitive eyes..this pencil does not affect my eyes at all.Definately will buy it again...

Ok and not my fave

This is OK as grays go, but it seems to have some sparkles in it which were not what I expected or wanted. I prefer the Prestige storm gray which apparently is not being made anymore, so am looking for a sub.

Not a good replacement for Aveda eyeliner

I ordered this eyeliner because I was searching for a replacement for Aveda’s discontinued eyeliner and came across a review claiming it was the perfect dupe. This is nothing like Aveda’s formula. This eyeliner smears and smudges and gets all over the place, and is nearly gone by the end of the day. The color is not the same, either. I only line my top lid, but somehow this ended up all over my lower lid, creating a dark shadowy effect that made me look sloppy.
