The No-Kill Bird Bib!!! for cats!!! works great!!!
This bib has been a game changer!!! My cat Buddy tolerates it amazingly well and we've not had any dead birds in 2 months! Fewer dead mice as well. I had to trim it a bit as he is a small cat. I can't thank you enough for this great yet simple product!!

Reduced killing but cat manages to loose it
For the brief duration our cat wore the large bib, there was no daily carnage and piles of Juncos, lizards and snakes on our front porch. We also now don't let him out until 8am. The downside is that twice his bib has come off. I have no clue how. The first time I found it just lying on the deck, this second time, well I think I might need to canvas the neighbourhood. In the 30 mins he has lost his bib this is a lizard in our drive way. Observations: (1) He is a large cat so and the large bib did not even reach the ground for him (2)When he crouched down to drink water in the outside bowl, he did have to push the bib out of the way and got a little frustrated with it. (3)Overall he quickly got used to it. He is only outside for 4 - 6 hrs a day so we did take it off once he came inside. (4)He needs to play much more once he comes inside. Am guessing he couldn't catch things outside and wanted to make up for it by playing inside. Concerns (1) We live in a rural mountain area so I don't know if this would get in the way if he encountered a racoon or coyote. He is out for a limited time during the day to minimize the risk. (2)How he manages to loose the bib. (3)Because his paws stick out from under the bib will he eventually figure out how to get around the bib to pick up on where he left off with the carnage. Will definitely get another in an attempt to prevent his killing sprees and hope he doesn't loose and doesn't figure out how to get around it.

Killer Cat Is Foiled
Our adopted cat was a hummingbird and anole hunter and we needed a solution. She loved our small fenced patio/yard/flower bed area and we wanted her to be able to enjoy it. This bib has worked 100% of the time since we bought it last year. As other reviewers noted, it may need to be trimmed slightly to fit. We did this a small amount at a time to ensure we didn’t diminish its effectiveness. She’s short-legged so we left most of the width and trimmed the length to enable her to get down the steps and walk more normally. She doesn’t seem to mind it much at all, and we do use a break-away collar. She’s only busted out of it two or three times. She sleeps with it on the patio, and plays aggressively with it on. Like another reviewer, we do not need to use it in the winter. Highly recommend giving it a try.

Too big! The “clown collar” works better for us.
It was too big for her to be even a little active outside. She had to walk bow legged just to walk otherwise she would trip on it and fall on her face. Sad. It is recommended for outdoor use only. Too hard to make sure she didn’t escape without it. It did not work well for us.

Cat outsmarted it, and worried it could be a safety risk
If your cat has a significant prey drive and isn't stupid, it will likely have no problem figuring out how to work around this thing. Even tho the creators say you should start with the smaller size, I think it would be better to start with the bigger size if your cat is very motivated to catch birds and has a normal intelligence level for a cat. However, even then, it could potentially be a safety risk. My cat goes in and out of our pool area by walking between the poles of the gate, and she sometimes also jumps on top of the wall surrounding our yard. This product made it difficult for her to get through the pool gate, which made me worried that she could get stuck in the branches of bushes or somewhere else.. I also was worried that she would possibly injure herself by trying to jump on a wall while wearing this. Ultimately, I didn't feel comfortable with my cat wearing this without me constantly supervising her because of my safety concerns, which defies the whole purpose of me buying it- which was to not have to supervise her in the yard as closely in order to prevent her from catching hummingbirds. It is a cool concept though, and it did work initially before my cat figured it out (in like MAYBE an hour).

It Works
This is my third bib. The colors on this one I feel are probably more noticeable to the birds than the plain solid colors. My cat is a serial bird killer and these do help. He still gets one every once in awhile but this has helped a lot.

Really large
My cat Dick (not my fault, the other 2 cats named him) hates this thing. Dick is no wimpy little kitty. He's a neutered male offspring of a sometimes feral cat. The bib is so large that he trips over it as he tries to step over it...sad to watch. The material is such that I am going to try to downsize it a bit because I don't think it will fray. The pattern is vibrant and should work, if your cat doesn't kill you in your sleep for making him/her wear it.

It works!
The stray cat that adopted us is, what my wildlife biologist husband calls, an "aggressive hunter" so we got the large bib. We've watched our cat in action around birds and other small mammals and this does the trick at least with the birds. It slows down his approach and messes up his pounce or leap just enough that the birds can escape. Yet he still manages to catch mice in our barn which we want him to do. He's not overly fond of the bib yet he still runs with it on and will climb trees. He also allows us to put it on and take it off pretty easily. As my husband says, "it's an annoyance for the cat, but a lifesaver for the birds".

It works. It stopped my cat killing birds

Before purchasing the large version of this bib, I was on the verge of giving our cat back to the rescue centre from which she came - she would catch anything that moved every day - mice, birds, shrews. It was very distressing to us. As a last hope I bought this bib. The only alteration I made was sewing it in a loop into which to slot the collar, rather than relying on the velcro (as it came) to secure it to the collar. It has been superb. I bought this 1 month ago. She has caught only 1 mouse in all that time. She wears it permanently. She can still jump up fences etc, but she isn't so agile with fine movements for hunting and so has largely stopped trying. She seems content enough - just has to go at a slower pace now. I wash the bib occasionally by hand in regular washing powder and it's fine. It's made from wet-suit type material. I have ordered a couple more despite the price as I am so pleased, and relieved, to have found this . Highly recommend.

Bought this after we moved to a rural property and discovered our cat loves to catch birds (not even eat them, just kill them). I was absolutely NOT okay with this, and was getting close to rehoming him to an indoor only situation. Out of desperation, I decided to give this bib a try, with the added addition of obnoxious bells attached to the front. He hasn't caught a single bird since! He gets to be happy and spend time outside with the other cats, and it doesn't seem to bother him at all. But no more heartbreak over sweet little birds being needlessly massacred.

Seems to do the trick. Worth buying as my cat has caught so many birds.
