Different than the picture, excellent effort put into presentation!
To start off, I researched many Bonsai Trees before comitting to this purchase, being my first one, I wanted to make sure I made a decision I would be pleased with. I waited patiently for the arrival. While the shipping was efficient, I would make a comment that shipping life plants through the USPS over the weekend seems redundant. I would have waited a few more days to ensure the safety of my plant.Onto the product itself, the pot it comes in is a beautifully crafted pot. At first it appeared to be covered in small scratches, until I noticed that the lines add a unique cracked eggsell look to the pot, and are barely visible. The fisherman sits, (without holding a rod for some reason) over a currently empty pool. As others have stated, it does appear to drain into the soil side, I will find the hole, and caulk it to add to the asthetic value of the product. The scene is unique, the small mountains appear well crafted, and the white dove resting on one is a neat touch. The Bonsai Tree itself was very well maintained, of course there were some dead leaves in the pot when it arrived, as was to be expected. The tree appears healthy, with no attached pests or diseases. The soil was slightly dried out, so I would recommend keeping an eye on that when your plant arrives. Other than that, I'm completely happy, the tree does not look like a twig or stick in dirt as others may have described it.One final piece of advice. The Juniper Bonsai has very sharp "thorns" that grow alone new brances of the tree. They are extremely painful to the touch, so be careful when grooming your Bonsai, but do not let this deter you from the purchase! They need to be deliberately grabbed to deliver that level of discomfort.

Beautiful Tree
Took a while to get delivered, but was surprised how well it looked when I got it. It was wrapped securely and tree looks exactly like the picture. Very happy with this purchase. Only thing it did not come with any instructions how to care for it. Easy enough to research on the net.

Got a tiny shrub instead of a miniature tree
Im pretty disappointed with what I received. Instead of a tree in miniature with a decent sized canopy I got a poorly pruned shrub. Its actually not even one single "tree trunk" but it seems to be two separate ones potted together. Now I understand that being a live plant and all its not going to look exactly like the one in the product picture but what I received seems to be a lot smaller and looks nothing like all the other customer pictures which are bigger, have a more defined "tree-shaped" canopy and seem to match the item being sold. It also is a little brown in some places. The pot itself turned out really nice and like the one pictured with the division for the pond. The fishing rod though was also another disappointment. The "fishing rod" was nothing more than a toothpick and the size is way bigger than the figure. I tied a string to it and that improved it a bit but not what I was expecting. Overall, not very happy with this purchase.Update: I've been in touch with the seller. I read a past review on here where a disappointed customer got his tree replaced but that's not the case anymore it seems. When I complained about everything I mentioned in this review the seller's response was "They are live plants that is why they sizes and shape varies from picture." When I pushed again they only offered a 30% credit. Buyer beware, it seems that with this product it's a 50/50 chance you'll either get a great looking tree that matches the product or you'll get a half haphazardly arranged shrub that may or may not come in the correct pot. My advice, save your money and go to a proper plant store/nursery for a healthier tree as buying plants over amazon seems to be a crapshoot.

Cute little tree
I gave it 4 stars. One reason I bought it was the assumption that the water pool would supply water to the tree automatically. It does not. The pool is strictly cosmetic. So I have to give it a light spray of water every morning which is really not that much of a problem because I have other plants that I do that to, but because of that I have to keep this with my other plants in my kitchen area and cannot put it in another room where I would forget to water it. It is also smaller then I expected....only about 4 inches tall

Received earlier than expected
Received several days earlier than expected, so that’s a good thing. Very dried out and loosing some of its leaves, but again expected. Only complaint is that it came with the fishing pole but no little man t hold it. Will have to find some little figurine because that was what ultimately made me decide to buy this one. Overall very satisfied.

Could be better....
The tree itself is fine. It comes very clumpy, but this is ideal because you can prune it into the shape and fullness that you like. I have two problems with this setting, though. First, I didn't realize the guy, the lantern, and the bridge were glued on, I thought they were more like options that would be packaged separately. You can remove the bridge easily enough, but pulling the lantern off leaves a big blob of dried white glue on your rock. I haven't tried to remove the guy, I'll leave him till I figure out how to get the glue off the rock (any ideas?). The next problem is the pool of water. When I filled it with water, it came out the drainage hole under the tree soil area. Every time I fill it, it is dry the next morning, which concerns me since I imagine it is leaking into the soil and my tree is probably already, hopefully not fatally, over-watered. (There is a clay divider, I thought maybe the clay was just soaking up the water, which is why I filled it a second and third time.) I have now filled that area with small clear glass beads to simulate water. The pool was a good idea, but not if they could not create a viable seal for it.If you like little figurines in your bonsai setting and you can either seal the pool yourself or find something to use instead of water, this is a good tree at a good price. It arrived with a few brown (dead) needles on the bottom branches, but it was shipped to Florida via US mail when the temps are in the upper 90's. It was packed very well and arrived in a timely manner.

and so was useless as a decoration
My tree was dead when it came to me. I took one look, and tested it and realized that the tree (a hardy juniper BTW) was dead and there was no way to revive it. The little fishermen decoration was broken (the hand holding the rod was broken in half), and so was useless as a decoration. As for any good things, the dirt was clean and healthy. And the pot was a nice color.Wow! That's all I can think of for good things? Clean dirt? It is obvious that this product shipping, handling and storage of their products is not very high on their radar. At no point in their rambling, incoherent advertisements were they even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this website is now dumber for having read it. I award you no stars, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Three Stars
A bit too small for my liking.

We are happy with the purchase
We've had this little tree for about a year now. It's grown significantly. We are happy with the purchase. I was surprised it made the journey in the mail. But it's still going strong!

14 days ago today, this little tree left somewhere in California - to find a home in Ontario, Canada. The box took minor damage, but the tree was so firmly and well packed that she was still entirely intact, moist and looking for a home. And the teeny little fisherman and his pole were also perfect.Just one suggestion for future days - the postal service? Surely international affairs might do better with a courier.
