Great selection of passages.
I like the passages. Most of my students in 1 st grade cannot read them yet. They are all lower level ESL students. But it is great for my 2nd grade students.

Simple, straight forward book
I really liked the way this book was set up. It's straight to the point, the pictures are printed in black and white ...so it's just a simple layout, but that was ok for us. There's the story on one page and then the questions on the next. This was the perfect book to add to my son's curriculum. If you're looking for a book with lots of cartoon pictures and bright colors, then this isn't the book for you. If you want to supplement your child's reading comprehension with a simple, straight forward book then this will meet your needs.

This is a great book. I use it daily for my home ...
This is a great book. I use it daily for my home schooled 1st grader. I can teach my son how to answer multiple choice questions while teaching him reading comprehension strategies. I love the writing prompts at the end of the questions. This has turned out to be particularly helpful for a boy who is not excited, nor confident about writing. The little writing prompts are not too difficult, and are a good thing to do daily to encourage original thoughts from the student. The only downsides are that there is no answer key and the book does not have enough lessons to last a whole school year (if doing them daily). I will order the level B book to continue this fun, daily exercise.

I love these books. but no answer key
I love these work books, the stories are just long enough. But, they do not come with answer keys. You have to purchase those separately.

Best book for 1st grade readers!
Absolutely wonderful! Best book for children 1st grade level, who are struggling with reading. My son gets overwhelmed with reading, but the format of this book has given short, educational 1 paragraph stories. Then you answer 6 questions to test comprehension. Story examples are: where do the stars go? Can bees talk? How do frogs catch food? Short & thorough, stories & my son loves this book! Format is great. I highly recommend this book. It has 95 pgs.
