This is a very well made hat it is light and fits well. I normally wear 7 1/2. But received a 7 5/8. The hat still fit perfect. Great and fast service.

Finally! A Panama that doesn't cost a fortune but is well made anyway. I have bought three different kinds of white Panama hats before this one. The Biltmore split the crown within a few weeks. The Stefeno is really well woven of good material but has a wire in the brim that poked out. The B Brent Black is perfect but so expensive that I never wear it. This ULTRAFINO is becoming my daily wear hat. It stays on the rack right by the door and I grab it on the way out. Sun protection like that is mighty important. I am careful enough not to let it get rained on, but there have been a few times that was a near miss. This ULTRAFINO held up well to the first sprinkles of rain but, just like all Panamas, I wouldn't want it to see a downpour.

Out of the box, the hat has a nice look with tight and solid weaving. No holes, gaps, or soft areas. As an XLG, this one sits a little loose on my head. While this is the size I normally wear, the sizing from one hat maker to the next can vary a little. So not a major issue: it is amendable with a hat sizer inside the clothe hat band. The brim does require reshaping, however. As recieved, the brim is mostly flat, with the left side being curled up as shown in the ad photos. This was unexpected as other hats purchased from Ultifino have been without this error. Fortunately, this is also an easy fix through the application of steam and patience. The interior of the crown is unlined as expected, though it has a rough appearance in the top. The untrimmed straw from the weave is fixed in place, and does not lend itself to soft spots, as has been demonstrated on other straw hats that have been encountered. There are also reinforcing strips in the "folds" of the forward pinch of the crown to prevent breakage. The water-resistant coating can be felt on the straw. A tag was attached stating the hat should not be exposed to heavy rainfall. (See about a treated cotton or canvas hat for use as rain gear.) Overall, a strong looking hat that requires, in this case, a little work before wearing. It may have slipped pass in QC and is not held as indicative of all its line.

Well made hat but thought the 2" wide brim made it look too wide for my tastes.... Looked like a sombrero... Returned it...

Even though the hat was too large (I usually wear a 7-5/8 instead of 7-3/4), it arrived with spacers that easily fit inside the sweat band, so the fit was perfect.

Outstanding build quality, appearance is awesome, the material is comfortable and stiff enough to retain its shape. EXCELLENT PRODUCT, TRUE ULTRAFINO!!! My first of this brand, it will not be the last!

I returned the item because of poor quality the leather band hat visible glue. I was then charged a restocking fee. The hat probably has been returned several times because of the glue and they keep making money from restocking fees.

Great shape and fits well. Light weight and very well made. Had many Panama hats and this one tops them all.
