If you are looking for a perfect leather 6' leash, look no further than this one! This is an absolutely pristine leather leash! It is so comfortable on my hand and wrist! It helps me control my big Golden boy and looks wonderful at the same time! The hardware is perfect -- a brushed nickel color. There is also a great pouch for storing this amazing leash in. It arrives in a little box, and uncoils into a gorgeous leash. The first couple of minutes, it is a little coiled up, but within minutes, transforms itself into a perfect leash. It doesn't smell, unless you sniff it and then you smell a soft leather smell and it is perfect! If you are looking for a perfect leash to walk your dog, or train your dog, stop and look no further because you've found it ... this is it! We were looking for a leash that was strong enough for our lab who can be a power puller, but also soft on the hands, We have been using this leash for a week now and it's done the job very well. The leather is lightweight and smooth, although some parts of the underside were a tiny bit frayed but I don't think that matters much. The length is good and it can be rolled up to shorten or pack away easily, unlike other leather leashes. My only critique would be that that clip is a little resistant to opening up which can be fiddly to get on our lab because he tends to get excited and jump around when the leash is going on him. Also, the bag is a little bit small so the leash needs to be rolled quite tightly. Other than that the leash is great. I highly recommend it.

This Lavien leash is a very high quality leash. Thick leather. Nice handle. I was very impressed with the packaging.The downside is that every time I use it my hands are black for the rest of the day. The leather dye wears off onto my hands and then doesn't wash off.

Of the leashes I have for my dog this was my favorite.I bought it about 6 months ago.Well made, breaks in quickly and becomes very soft yet plenty strong enough for my 80+ lb GSD puppy.Unfortunately the piece on the clip where you use your thumb to open it just broke off one day leaving a sharp stub.The leash is unusable. The rest of the clip is still good and appears well made.My thoughts were that this was just a fluke so I emailed the vendor and unfortunately never received the courtesy of a reply.Sad.Hence the one star rating.I love the leash but I cannot give my business to a vendor whose product breaks and appears not to care.Good leash. Bad clip. Unresponsive company.

I was looking for a replacement to padded 1 inch nylon leash because I prefer leather and though that this was going to be perfect!This lease will become softer over time but I found the leather on this leash to be very stiff and rough to the feel. I found the leather to be quite thin.The padded handle is barely paddedThe hardware is actually quite nice and is the best feature.I do not like this leash at all and will be returning it.

I'm quite impressed with this leash. It comes from the package ready to go, no hard leather on your hands that either needs to be oiled or hurts your hand. It is quite the opposite, the handle/grip of the leash is actually slightly padded and fits my hand very well. The length is a solid 6 feet and both sides of the doubled leather are smooth. The fastener that attaches to the dogs collar or harness is designed to withstand the strength of a larger dog, I felt confident that my 55 pound dog would not break through it and he hasn't. This is important because he is a very strong field dog who is still learning what "heel" means.The leash also looks good. Maybe this isn't important to some but when you are able to have durability; ease of use, comfort and looks all in one package, so far as I'm concerned it makes this leash the leash of choice. I highly recommend this leash as an all around good leash for you and your dog.

WOW, highly impressed with this leash. It is high quality leather that feels very luxurious. It is soft and supple right out of the box (the leash also comes with a storage bag). The handle at the end is perfect for the dog walker because it is padded and comfortable to wrap around your wrist. Unfortunately, I did return this because I needed a brown leash :( I don't think the company makes the leash in brown. My dog looks much better with the brown collar, so I would like to keep her matching. Highly recommend this leash if you are looking for a high quality leather leash. Some people ask if this will hold up to chewers, and yes, sort of, as much as a piece of leather would. I think leather holds better than nylon because the dogs teeth don't seem to puncture it so much.

the leather is thick and high quality. I like how easily this leash coils. I am able to coil it quickly and easily, it gives me maximum control over my dog. Also has a large comfotable handle loop, which I sometimes place up one of my arms, this allows me to control my dog close to me by having both hands available to hold the leash. The only reason why I deducted a star is because of the latch. it appears to be made of casted white metal and feels cheaply made. It does the job and has adequate holding power but I have other cheaper leashes with more heavy duty latches. If Lavien were to upgrade the latch tjis leash would be s 5 star leash. None the less I really like this leash, the feel, the control all make it a good leash.
