Strong belt, works for business casual to a suit
This was a great purchase. I bought this in lieu of buying a 5.11 belt for wearing with a pistol in a "dressed up" setting at work. I know Carhartt is not first name in tactical gear, but it made sense to me after I thought that this is a brand which is well known for making durable stuff. When it arrived, I noted it had a reasonably dressy appearance and that it fits true-to-size. After two weeks of use it show some signs of wear but this is to be expected with a holster and accessories going on and coming off. I think it will wear well overall thought because it is simply a single piece of thick leather--no seams to bust open or any obvious points of failure. When I bought this belt, I was looking for something dressy. I fully realize that this is not the ideal belt to wear with a suit--it's heavy and wide and not one of the thinner ones which are typically worn but this will work for my purposes and should be up for consideration if you are under the same constraints (need a dressy belt to wear with a suit while hooking things on your belt). That said, it will work with business casual with no problems at all.

This is a quality belt. 14 months of daily use.
Over a year of almost daily use and this belt is holding up perfectly. I looked for a quality black leather belt for a while, and ended up with many patent leather pieces of crap that separated soon after purchase. This one isn't showing signs of falling apart, the top layer isn't peeling off, no issues with the buckle, it just does what a belt should do and looks good doing it.I dress business casual at work, which means lots of khakis or dress pants. This belt is a little wide for some of the loops, but I've always managed to get it on. I usually tuck the tip of the belt into the first loop of my pants after I buckle it to keep it completely out of the way, but this second layer of belt is often too much for the already stuffed loop. I don't have an abundance of belt beyond the buckle, and the keeper does an adequate job so it isn't really a problem for me. If you get a belt far too large for your waist and need to double thru dress pant loops you would have a problem. If this belt is still available years from now when the one I bought finally fails I will buy it again without a second thought.

Longer than the stated size but good quality
When buying a belt online one always worries about the fit. The belt has the standard 5 holes for the buckle. I would expect that the length from the outside end of the buckle to the middle hole would match the stated length. I bought a 36 inch belt. The actual measurement from the buckle to the middle hole is 37 3/4" at the time of delivery. The 36" mark on my tape measure is closer to the last hole than any other. Like any leather product, this belt certainly will stretch so the un-stretched 36" belt is actually appropriate for a waist that measures 38" or 39" around the outside of the pants where the belt will go. I wanted to upload a photo showing these measurements, but this listing did not allow customers' photos. The buckle on the brown belt is definitely more of a polished gunmetal color than the silver shown in the listing. There is nothing with a "Satin nickel finish" on the belt although the detailed Product Description used that term, apparently referring to the buckle. And the photo in the listing suggests more rounded edges on the buckle than is the actual buckle. Other than that, the photo was accurate.I saw a review that said they received a belt that was not full grain. The one I received does appear to be true full grain and comparable to a Levis brand belt I have had for probably 20 years. The buckle is sewn on with a heavy thread similar to what a sailmaker or shoemaker would use. If the thread ever breaks due to wear it will be easy to repair. As others state, this is a herky belt, suited for casual wear and not with a business suit. Even though it was made in China, it seems to be much sturdier and better made than the meager selection found in stores in my area.I might have given it 5 stars if the length was more accurately stated. I suppose few of us really know our true waist sizes, and most clothing sizes are wildly inaccurate. Vanity sizing rules. So, if you think a size 36 belt is right for you, you probably actually are at least a couple inches more around the waist, and this might be right for you. If you measure accurately with a tailor's tape measure, be aware that these belts come long.

Solid everyday belt.
Very durable belt. Perfect for everyday use. I’m pretty hard on my clothes including my belts and carhartt has always held up longer than any other brand I’ve tried, so it’s well worth the money. I would say that they recommend going 1 pant size up for the belt, however I followed that recommendation and had to return that belt and get 2 pant sizes up. But that’s nothing to knock the quality or worth of the product.

Excellent belt at an excellent price
I purchased this belt for it casual, yet durable styling. Quality it first rate, the undetstated casual styling is exactly what I wanted, and the price sold me from the time I began shopping for a leather belt.No need to look any further if you are looking for a casual, understated, leather belt because if you are looking at this Carhart belt, you found the best.

Nice belt! Buckle? Not so much!!!
I bought two of these belts for my husband, as a birthday gift the belt is very nice, but today, the buckle broke! He’s had the belt for just over two months, and only wears it a few days per week. He has other belts that he wears. Luckily, the belt is made with snaps, which allow the buckle to be changed/replaced.I would gladly upgrade this review, should the seller replace the broken buckle.
