Clear progression, interesting and varied recipes, informative
I am so pleased with this book; I have quite a few weaning books (AK, Young Gums etc) and wasn't entirely sure this would add much - but it really does. I have followed Joe's Instagram accounts for a while and was a fan of his style of cooking for his little ones - this book is full of genuinely interesting recipes, new flavour combos and methods that I would not have thought of. I was half-expecting it to be a re-hash of his Insta recipes, and there are a few in there, but there is plenty of new stuff to make it worth a buy. Most of the recipes are simple to make and use common ingredients (we are coming to the end of a week of lockdown and due a shop, but there's still lots of recipes we could make with what we have left). The progression in complexity is really useful while still allowing lots of flexibility - Joe encourages you to be bold with flavour for a baby, which really resonates with how we have been weaning our little one. Thanks for a fab book, Joe - looking forward to the inevitable follow-up for older kids/family cooking!

Really helpful and informative
Great book. I was totally lost with weaning and had no idea where to start but this book really helped us. I found it of the same quality as Joe's usual work - good recipes, very enthusiastic and the passion for good food comes through. Really good sections on tips for weaning, routines, baby feeding in general and I found it has been written very balanced and respectfully of breast and bottle feeding (my son was combi fed so I really appreciated this).Just to say though, if you're looking for a book that's filled with different twists on mashed potatoes and puréed carrots then this isn't for you. The recipes aren't stereotypical 'kids menu' style - the overriding theme in here is your kids don't need to eat bland food - and focus on exposure and enjoyment of all different kinds of food. If this doesn't sound up your street then either buy with an open mind or know that this probably isn't the best book for you.

Happy purchase
Easy to understand, good advice and good recipes. Some of the ingredients are something I would never have even thought about but that can only be a good thing. There are family meal recipes which I will definitely be using and the finger food section is great. My daughter didn't eat ANYTHING for the first month and we are at 8 months now and shes just getting into her stride so cooking some of the things and having her not eat them was frustrating however now the penny has dropped will be giving the recipes another go!

Simple but informative
I love this book. I got myself into a right state regarding weaning, ordered too many books and researched too much. I enjoy joes recipes and do the Joe wick wean in 15 myself, and felt this would go along side it well cooking similar meals for both of us. I am so glad I got this, I feel so much better about weaning and I haven’t picked up any other books since. The recipes are great!

Brilliant book!
Ive been so excited for this book. Its beautifully laid out with gorgeous photos and simple to follow recipes and guidance. All of the recipes are healthy and there are lots of vegetarian/fish/meat recipes so a good variety. The recipes start from 6 months and goes up to family meals!I would say this is not your average baby recipe book and you might have to go and get some ingredients you dont typically have in your cupboard however, I think of this as a huge positive because I'm introducing my baby to things she probably would never have otherwise. We cant wait to start in 2 weeks!

Excellent book
I have purchased a couple of weaning books as although I have been through the weaning process with my eldest daughter, there is a big age gap between my daughter and my baby! This book is really good and with lots of up to date references to NHS guidance is evidence based. I am really looking forward to trying out the recipes.

Good overall
I bought this as I was curious to see what recipes Joe had come up with for babies. There are some interesting recipes and ideas, very Joe Wicks in style. The book is fine - the advice is good, told from his family's perspective and not at all preachy. Yes, his wife breastfed and he talks about it briefly (and why shouldn'the, if that's what they did), but if anything, he bends over backwards to say "whatever works for you" throughout the book. The recipes have no real thematic organisation. They are a bit random. And really for older babies. But still good. However, if you're new to weaning, this isnt the right book, in which case i recommend Rana Conway's Weaning Made Easy or Charlotte Stirling Gallagher own book

Amazing recipes.
The recipes in here are just a little different from the norm and absolutely perfect for new flavours and tastes for our Grandson.
