this device is poorly made and at it's price-point? This should be well made. And it is "Made in China", according to the packaging. Which flies in the face of the add it was listed under. Following the directions exactly. And with, "Fresh", pills, not old or dried out and brittle.Yet STILL-Only expect 60-70% of your pills to be cut correctly in half. The rest will be cracked into many pieces and always will the bottom of the cutter be full of "Dust" from the badly cut pills."Forget completely about using this to (quarter), any pills at all!" You'll see why if you ever try!I really expected much more of this cutter. "Especially", At it's price point which is more than triple the cost of any competition!It could possibly be made to work but "only", if the molds were re-designed and re-worked. Which I am sure will not happen! But doing so correctly after doing the math "After watching it flex when used". This would leave both the top plate holding the blade. And also the bottom plate which holds the levered, spring powered holding arms about four to five times thicker. Thereby making the entire assembly much more rigid. Which is at least, IMHO, It's worst design flaw. I used it today to cut 7 to 10 pills at a time. Six times. And It does not feel as if it will survive more than a few more uses before it begins to totally fall apart! And since I have a single pill cutter which does work flawlessly? I will be using that from now on since I will be returning this waste of my money and hope back to China, - "People's Republic of"...... Is this a Chinese knock-off of an actual American made design that "IF" the original could be found and ordered would actually perform as the add indicates? "PROBABLY", But I guess I will never know...... As Amazon does not seem to care if they are selling 'Clones', "Knock-offs", or really any "substandard", items of any type! If this did work? It would be well-worth the price and save my arthritis riddled hands much frustration, trouble and of course, loads of pain.....

This pill splitter works much better than the cheaper versions for very small pills. There still have been a couple of times that the pill didn’t cut in equal parts, but I found that I need to have fewer pills in the splitter at once (I put 2) and I need to set the spitter on at counter height and then and quickly push the cover down which holds the blade. When I do that, I’ve had much better success and the pills do split at the center. Overall, I recommend this splitter over the others I’ve purchased which were cheaper and never cut in the middle. I would give this 4-1/2 stars if that was a choice.

Purchased because I thought it would be easier to cut a week's worth of pills in half. Unfortunately, after 3 tries, it split the pills very unevenly. I did 3 pills at a time and it cut 1/3, 2/3rds or worse. I tried using regular aspirin to see if I was doing something wrong and I never achieved cutting pills in even halves. Worst money spent. I couldn't return because the original box was already thrown away and trash picked up.

It works very well, up to its limits. I am able to cut multiple normal-size pills at once and very safely (the blade is covered by guards throughout the process). The only time it failed is when it was used on a very large and thick dog chewy medication-the blade stuck in the pill and I had to very carefully replace it; it’s worked perfectly since. Recommended.

I have a prescription medication of which I take 1/2 pill at a time, so whenever I get it refilled, I have to cut all the pills in half. I was doing it with a single pill cutter, but that was tedious and messy and it never cut them evenly. This cutter allows me to cut 7 of my pills at the same time with no mess and even cuts every time! It's so easy to use too!

UPDATED REVIEW: Lasted a month and then I went out and bought a $3 cutter because this broke over 2 pills!

This little tool is such a time-saver. I was cutting pills one by one. The function of this pill cutter amazed me on how well it works.

I've had so much trouble splitting pills for my pets. This cuts them better than any cutter I tried.

This is now on its way to the bin, utterly, utterly useless.Great idea to be able to cut multiple pills in one go. However the isn't the device to do it as it broke first time it was used. The cutting blade became stuck in the paracetamol tablets I was cutting. I removed the lid in which the blade is attached to find the blade still in the tablets. A couple of the tablets hadn't been cut all the way through either. This is now on its way to the bin, utterly, utterly useless.Another observation is this is probably best used on round pills rather than lozenge pills as the two slides that secure the pills during cutting tend to flip the lozenge around so you don't have two even sized pieces.
