Canโt understand negative reviews
Iโm no chef, but Iโve got an ok pallet and cannot understand how reviewers have said these are nasty tasting because of the rapeseed oil! We found them to be lovely in salads, dropped in pasta in a tomato sauce, having them in a bowl with drinks etc etc. Iโve eaten olives in Italy, Greece, Spain etc and without a doubt having them French in country in the sun with a cold wine or beer will always make them taste better, and weโve spend 3 times as much for fancy marinated olives in fancy packaging and they taste better by some % but not 3 times better. So our conclusion is if you want a nice plump olive (still has the pips in) that you can mix with feta cheese, or dipping ciabatta into balsamic vinegar blah blah then these are perfect, they are cheap enough to eat on mass, or mix in your own flavoured olive oil and herbs then buy these as this is a bargain. On the 1 weeks consumption you donโt have to be a rocket scientist to understand this is due to regulation, there is no difference in cracking the lid and scooping out a number of olives and then and as long as the olives are still covered in the same oil and you pop the container in the fridge then these will last much longer than a week. Oil can get protein strings in it, it tastes nasty but you can see it but if kept in the fridge then itโs ok in our view, but Iโm not a food scientist. They are not going to go off in a week because you broke seal on the lid.

Not great..bad
So after buy Lidl premium olives ยฃ1.89 150g, fresh milky crunch and super tasty I thought let buy 1.5kg.. actual weight of olives turn out to 800g @ยฃ14.99.. not good value. Olives are mushy slightly bitter and old and not milky as they should be. Also loads of stem on the olives poor product. Not what they should .. totally disappointed and would highly recommend you avoid buying from here. I never will again. Waste of time and money. Donโt know what the other reviews are going on about. Gl if you buy them

Good flavour.
I decanted these straight away into a sterilized kilner jar with olive-oil in place of the brine/rapeseed oil. Also added some chilli flakes (1/2 tablespoon). They have very good flavour; caveat, the actual quantity of olives is 800g

Great value for money. Real nocellara olives, large tall tub.
For those who does not yet know -- nocellara olives have taste different of 'traditional' types of olives. They are much more mellow and, for me personally, the only kind of olives I enjoy eating on their own. From my experience they are always sold stoned, so you could not use them in salads and such. You will get the large tall tube of real nocellara olives. The overall price is about half of what you would pay in the supermarket. The only issue is that this tub is too tall to place anywhere in the fridge but the milk compartment on the door. Overall I recommend this product.

Tastes like machine oil
Really sorry for being negative about it, I really liked the quality of the olives. They are really outstanding quality but why would you use that oil which is not olive oil %100 sure. Olives smells like something else, I can not quite name what oil is that but such a wasted olives for me. Tastes and smells really bad, I tried to put it onto water and waited for hours but I can still smell it and taste it. It feels like machine oil, as a mediterennean I am very disappointed. Please take this as a positive for review and change the way you are doing it.

Tasty!
These Nocellara olives have that characteristic buttery taste, are easy to chew (mind the olive stones!) and have a lovely flavour. They come in a heavy duty, large plastic screw-top jar of which the olives' drained weight is quoted to be '800g'. Fair enough. The olives are in a mix of rapeseed oil and olive oil which added ascorbic acid which naturally preserves the green colour of the olives. They arrived in good time, well packed I was pleased to notice. My husband and I love these Nocellara olives and we think you will, too. Good value.

Do this โ ๏ธ
Take spoon and carefully remove thin layer of rapsed oil from top. And put few spoons of extra virgin oil instead. They will taste 10x better. The rapsed oil make them taste bland. And get Pitter- stone removing tool. They will taste lovely fresh and firm.
