Q: Can this be reversed to run on the opposite side of the handguard?

Yes, I've flipped mine to both sides. You can unscrew the mlok or pic rail attachment and flip it around if needed.

Q: Will the unity hot button work with this light?

It looks like you would need a separate tail cap to attach that would be compatible with it.
