Useless
Out of 60 filters so far I have only been able to use about 13 of them because the rest are close, meaning the holes are not made on them. Horrible brand

Removes the tar but changes the taste
In the image the bottom is a new filter, the middle is after one "light" cigarette, the top is after three cigarettes. As seen in the image there is definitely tar removal going on. Lots of it.Unfortunately, it also removes the taste of the cigarette itself as almost no smoke passes through. If you want these as an excuse to keep smoking, you will be disappointed. However, if you plan to quit, these will allow you to "slip" while preventing you from failing completely. The first part of quitting is the physical addiction. That actually doesn't last long. In 2 weeks, you can end the physical part. But smoking also has a mental addiction and that is where these filters help. By keeping the tar out of your lungs, you can appease the mental addiction without slipping back into the physical part.I wish they allowed more smoke flavor to come through but knowing that every time I quit, I failed at the mental part, these will certainly help address that part. I am not attempting quitting again until after the holidays, but these will certainly be a part of the quitting plan.

very hard to put on the filter of a cigarette
Very hard to use. Must twist the filter on your cigarette to insert it on these filters

Somewhat Helpful – Not Great In Cold Weather
I’ve tried different tar filters and traps throughout the years, and these are just kind of mediocre in my opinion. The design makes sense, and I appreciate that I can visibly see the tar being filtered out and trapped in the tube. However, there are some consistency issues in the way these were crafted. Some of the holes seem blocked or not all the way open for some reason. I notice that I really have to draw hard to get air to pass through on some of them. So, it ends up being kind of a laborious experience. Also, I found out right away that if the weather is cold outside when using these, the tar solidifies fairly quickly which can also block off the airflow making it difficult to use these without a lot of effort. I think these might be better in warm weather, but if you’re like me and smoke outside in the winter, while also wanting to keep the filters outside, they could clog up faster. Overall, I’m not totally displeased with these, but I wish they allowed for a little better airflow.
