MCAD Developing XML Web Services and Server Components with Visual C#.NET and the .NET Framework (Exam 70-320) (Exam Cram 2) Paperback – 1 May 2003

This book is dull, but I read it cover to cover and passed the exam. It is very concise and I had to read some chapters a few times to make sure I'd memorised the important points. You can't really expect much more than that from a programming book.The book comes with a CD containing a practice test which is very useful as I've pretty much got exactly the same marks on the test exam in this series as I have on the real exams. There are two more practice tests in the back of the book which you can do on paper. I would much prefer it if these two tests were on the CD too though, as I find the practice tests to be the most important part of these books.There are a few annoyances, for instance, somtimes the book will give you a list of operations to perform, but doesn't list the output of the program or script in some ocassions. I've never sat down to write out the programs in these sort of books, just reading the instructions and seeing the expected output is enough, however, some of my colleagues who are also taking these exams find that useful.However, these are minor gripes in the grand scheme of things, especially at the price.
