JED Pool Tools 10-459 Tug Boat Chlorinator for Swimming Pool

We love this big beautiful tug boat chlorine holder. It holds plenty of chlorine tablets easily. Well made, sturdy, easy to use. I liked that I could customize the placement of holes and their size to fit my needs. This floater looks great tugging around in the pool, and lasts a good long time between fillings. The chlorine level is always perfect. The boat moves around the pool rather quickly. It’s size is almost as large as a basketball but elongated, and the tube for the tabs is long and stabilizes the boat, about twice as long as any other floater we have ever tried. After months of use we couldn’t be happier with our purchase. Plan to get another one in a few years when this sturdy well made fella finally wears out.

I got this for my pool in July 2020 because my previous chlorine tablet floater of 7 years was wearing out. This tug boat is really cute, but by September the chemicals and elements were taking their toll on it. It has faded, which I expected, but the big complaint is that the threads no longer line up right due to deterioration of the plastic and rubber. It's virtually impossible to screw the tug boat top onto the tablet holder sleeve. The last time I filled it I had to forcefully just bang it down with the ball of my fist to get it on. I would not buy again.

I wish the holes were adjustable like other floaters. Once you drill out the holes you want, that's it for life. On the adjustable ones, we set them for more holes in the hot months and less when cold.We bought it because of the cute tugboat design. Tired of the standard ducks and sharks.

Wanted to like this - it is different, not the typical shark or duck. And to be honest, it does look great in the pool. But, I’m very frustrated because unscrewing the top from the base to fill is VERY problematic. It’s too tight, and the threads are poorly molded so that it takes several tries. A few more times and I’ll end up chucking it. Guess it’s back to the shark.😕

After using a defective duck last year I searched high and low for good reviews on one. This one is made so well. Only used it for a short time bur so far it does exactly what it's suppose to. Holes were easy to drill. Top is a hard rubber that will hopefully outlast the last thin plastic one we had. Best of all it floats and doesn't try to flip over. Will update if later issues arise.

So far so good. My only concern is that the yellow decorations seem mohave attracted the bees as there is a swarm of these surrounding the tugboat in the water. That is annoying and I am considering painting these a different color.But it does hold six large tablets and these seem to help maintain the chlorine level as needed in a 26,000 pool in the desert of California.I would suggest that the manufacturer consider a place to tie a rope so the tugboat is not always at the pool skimmer.

Arrived on time and it was better than advertised looks great in the in-ground pool.It is well worth the money buy one if you need this product.It actually tugs around the pool I Love it!!!!

WHEN FILLED WITH THE PRODUCT THE TUG BOAT TIPS OVERTHE TUG BOAT IS ADORABLE AND SO CUTE. It wont float so its purpose is lost. JUNK!!!However even if tug boat is disconnected it still falls over.A huge disappointment.JUNK JUNK JUNK
